What’s Your French Name? And Yes My Playground is Messed Up

Ooh la la!

Okay here’s what happened to my blog. I am trying to get a button for my blog. Stacie at SUPER MOMMY TO THE RESCUE has been kind enough to offer to do one for me and come up with the code. Well she did all that but the little box that the code goes in is too wide. See below:

If you click on the picture, it will enlarge it and you will see where my blog button is on the upper left. You will see right below that the box that has the code that people copy and paste to get my button. It’s way to wide. Two things here. I was trying to get the code in the sidebar to see if that would work and it just disappeared. That’s how my blog got messed up. I guess I didn’t save the file before previewing it. I’ve at least got my posts and right side bars back in tact, hopefully, until I can get this fixed through Bert. Second, Here is the code that Stacie has provided me for my button: (Click on the link below and you will see the code)

If anyone has any ideas on how to get that box smaller like I see in every blog, please let me know. Stacie and I are at our wits end with this. We have changed the col to 10 from 20 everything. I just am at a loss. I so like the button and hope someone can help us. Mahalo.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE 1430, 7/10/09

It’s been fixed. Bert did something with the code on the theme and my button is now available. Thank you Bert. You are the best. And Stacie, thank you also. You said it had to be something with the theme. Way to go!!

    Hey Thom-
    Put the code in a html new post box. Play with the width and height in the code. Use a calculator to shrink it correctly. If you still have a problem send it to me with something of the size you want and I will do it for you. Cheers!

      It’s not the button I’m having the problem with. It’s the damn code box. I’ve played with that thing til I’m blue in the face. LOL. I’ll send it to you. Thanks

    My name is Roslin Chambley. I imsgine all my friends call me Ros, though.

    Why can’t you just put your button and text inside a new text box in your Sidebar? Go to widgets. Click on the “add text” button, put the widget where you want it in your sidebar, then paste your code in it and it should fix the sizes — no?

    Hey Thom,
    Right after I sent the email saying I did not understand why it was not working, I figured it out.

    Since I did some customization on your theme, there was a call in the style.css that needed to be added to control the width of the box where the code is.

    That area is labled “textarea” in CSS. Since there was a custom “textarea” already in your CSS, I had to create a specific one for the left sidebar.

    Make sense?

      Monkey pee all over you? ROFLMAO. As you know, I had to have mine made. I’m not good artistically. No comment ya hear LOL. If I see one defaced scratch on that BEAUTIFUL button I shall huff and puff and well I’ll figure out something :)

    My French Name are “Mason Cauchon” Whatever the Heck that means.

    I hate to Pee on your Party buddy, but the HTML Code window is extended into the center of the main page. I refuse to use IE so don’t know what it looks like on it.

    In Opera the get the html code fits in the blog without overlapping. What you may want to do is take 100 pts off the height and the width.

      The name is awesome. Go ahead and pee. We can send it in for drug testing for your company LOL. Um, have you cleared your cache by chance? Both in Firefox and IE it’s perfect. When it got corrected, mine was off still also. But Bert told me to clear the cache and bingo…it worked. :)

      Only you would realize that LOL…and what a lovely French name it is. It’s the coding that’s a pisser. I missed one (1) and did that part wrong and the hole thing was messed up LOL. A Sea Monkey…now that explains it :) LOL
