What Should You Say in French? and US Political Humor
They want me to learn French when I have a hard enough time with English? Pffft
|
You Should Say “Bonjour” |
![]() If you were to visit Paris, you would really be interested in the local’s perspective on things. You don’t want a tourist experience – you want a real experience. You want to eat where Parisians eat and do what Parisians do. It’s probably best if you brush up on your French a little before visiting Paris. You’ve got to speak it if you want to meet local friends. |
This is what the First Couples looked like coming into the White House and the second photo what they will look like going out….
Hey, it’s only my opinion.
A Hui Hou

Okay, I admit it, I chuckled
.
I like the look of the new template Thom but that scrolling banner made me a bit dizzy as it zoomed by, and I had a devil of a hard time trying to click the “read more” link.
Glad you did. I slowed it down by one second. Glad you got a laugh
Nay I was not even smiling…I was too shocked! lol
hugs

LOL…Well at least it got some reaction LOL
What storm in life could have shaken Madame Michelle’s necklace askew
I have (what they call) a ‘challenge’ for you. It was midnight last night when Alice Audrey reminded me of it, and I included it on today’s post. If you have time kindly check it out. The answer should be tiny and quick or it depends upon how you would like to respond to it.
I’m enjoying my stroll around your new layout
.-= Hazel´s last blog ..Honor, Awards and a Game =-.
Thank you Hazel. I just found this comment in my spam can you stand that? LOL And I can’t believe I didn’t see this on your post. I will take care of it this weekend
WOOT I love a challenge.
Glad you like
Yikes the weight of that office and the toll it takes. And yes I was laughing…
Bonjour Thom…now I’ll go take the quiz.
It was just too funny if you ask me LOL
I was thinking how those four (or eight, in some cases) years really took a toll — and was totally caught by surprise at the last one!
.-= Barbara H.´s last blog ..Friday’s Fave Five =-.
LOL…yeah it does take a toll if you ask me.
I want a combo of YOUR French and MY French! I think we should go together!
You Should Say “Cafe au Lait”
If you were to visit Paris, you’d be content to hang out at a cafe most of the day watching the world go by.
You’d love watching all of the fashions and interesting people. And maybe you’d even get inspired to write or draw a little.
You would appreciate how the simple things in Paris can be so good. Coffee with milk. A walk to through the park. Buying bread.
You wouldn’t be like a normal tourist, trying to cram in as many sites as possible. You’d instead take your time and savor every moment.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh PUH-leeeeeeeeze! That man is NOT Fred Sanford! George Jefferson? Maybe!
Atta girl my darlin. There’s a good idea.
Maybe George yes LOL
Fun post for the day as always, Thom! Hope you’re having a good week, my friend.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed
“Cafe au Lait” — I would be afrench writer and sit in a cafe sipping coffee and scribbling notes in my diary.
I also agree with Melli that Obama is more George Jefferson — or perhaps Benson — than Fred Sanford.
.-= quilly´s last blog ..Girls Life Application Study Bible =-.
OOOO wouldn’t that be fun. I’d do that as well and of course we would have to sample the French pastries. LOL Yeah He could be either one LOL
You Should Say J’Adore {Which Translates to I Adore You}
If you were to visit Paris, you’d simply fall in love with it. And you would never want to leave.
Every little thing would delight you, from the food to the art to the people.
And who knows? If you were unattached, you probably would fall in love with a French person. They’re pretty hard to resist!
You are ready to adore Paris. You were born to be a Parisian – all you have to do is get yourself there.
I laughed out loud at the Last one, I miss that show. Redd Foxx was way ahead of his time. Hmmm, George Jefferson more like it.
Of them all I think Ronnie and Nancy were the best. But I’m looking at things from North of the 49th Parallel.
PS, when I was talking about the Last One, I was inferring to the First Families.
As for the Quiz Results, I can see my Scot’s Ancestors Spinning in their Graves.
Oh, did I tell you I like the new look. :}
.-= Bill´s last blog ..Microfiction Monday #22 =-.
Nancy and Ronnie were the bomb if you ask me. And yup I can see them spinning as well LOL. Glad you like the new theme. I do as well
Okay, yes, I’m laughing! But wow, remember Lincoln’s different portraits — what a toll that office takes. And people don’t seem to be half as respectful and grateful as they used to be. Maybe it’s us or maybe it’s them! LOL
I don’t suppose it’s possible to bring back those links to before-and-after posts, at the bottom of each post? I used to hit your most recent post and work back, but now navigation is a bitch, if you don’t mind my saying so!
.-= Susan at Stony River´s last blog ..Happy USS Mother’s Day =-.
LOL I think it’s us really. You sure those links aren’t there? I’ll keep watch on that sister.
They are there, now, thanks!
Maybe I came by during some code-fiddling? Or just went blind LOL I don’t know.
Thom, you’ve been great with all the feedback and suggestions from everyone — the more I look and use it, the better it gets. It’s definitely a better use of space now that it fills the screen.
LOL…well I have to make it as user friendly as possible. Thanks and I’m glad you are liking it better
that was funny.
[i speak french after a couple glasses of wine.]
Book Review – Moving In
Oh I’m so with ya there. LOL
Another “Cafe au Lait” person here, although what I really want to do when/if I go back to France is eat chocolat au pain, sip coffee and wine, and rest easy in Provence.
President Obama looked noticeably older after he had his first security briefing prior to taking office. (That’s right around the time he changed his tune about the Iraq war… think he learned something in that briefing?) There is no doubt that it is a stressful job!
So true on all accounts my friend I’ve never been there but would love to go. I’d join you. And wouldn’t have that job ever
what’s there to laugh about?
if these stupid quiz authors want to pretend they are french connoisseurs, they should at least learn to spell ‘pain au chocolat’ correctly! pain, of course, meaning bread and not something that hurts (like my @#&% head)
LOL Oh you and these quizzes. LOL Too funny. Look at the very last photo. It’s just a tad bit funny if you ask me
i have a strange sense of humour and am not easily amused by politics so no, it’s still not funny
and i forgot to say, j’adore… (mais je ne sais quoi)
Pffft…oh yes it is. And I can just imagine what you are saying there LOL
You Should Say “Oui”
If you were to visit Paris, you’d be up for anything and everything. You’d keep your schedule packed with excitement.
From shows to museums to tours to restaurants, you wouldn’t want to miss out on a thing.
You’d be a very adventurous traveler in France, and there’s little that you would say no to. You’d always be saying “oui.”
You’d sample escargot, check out a risque show, and even don a beret. You’d want the full Paris experience!
What Should You Say in French?
Blogthings: Quizzes and Tests and Memes, Oh My!
Funny – I used to wear a beret during a phase in high school/college. And I did take french!
Love Sanford!
So if the proverbial shoe fits by all means put it on. LOL
Dearest Thom,
Been missing you!
Just want to wish you HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!
Have you a great one!
LOL You are a nut! That’s just wrong.
I can hear the Sanford and Son music in my head now. Thanks for that!
At first, I was looking at the pics with all seriousness and thought that the White House really does age our presidents. I should have know better! LOL
BTW…Love the new layout!
i should say
oui!
fred and gorilla cookies! whoo-hoo!
LOL…indeed
Thom;
Your blog is even cooler then it was and I didn’t think that was possible.
I want you to know that I am magnifique, and all day I will chuckle over the political humor!
Why thank you. I very much appreciate that.
Glad you got a chuckle as well
You’re just not right, and you know it but, like run DMT, I’m delighted for the earworm and if you were anywhere nearby, I’d buy you a green beer.
Well thank you. And I’d gladly buy you one as well
Laughing for sure!
It will be interesting to see how he really does age.
Ronnie and Nancy still looked good. Could that be because he did things right. Hmmm…
Well considering that I already have plans to go to Paris later this year and I went last year and the year before as well as 2006. The quiz nailed me. I’m still lmao about the political humor.
Oui I think it did my friend
Don’t even try to speak french in Paris, they don’t have any patience with foreigners not even with tourists. I think it is the most unpolite town in the world I have ever been. It’s beautiful but the people …. (no comments) even the Frenchs say that about the Parisians !
I see that Bush didn’t do much work he looks the best of all couples, lol !
LOL. Too funny about the Parisians and Bush. I wouldn’t know anything about that cuz I’ve never been to France. Bush…well that’s a whole other subject LOL
