Janera hosts Wednesday Wickedness. Mahalo Janera for hosting. Direct from her blog comes the following:

“Hi and welcome to our brand new Wednesday Wickedness. We are like other memes in that we will ask you ten questions each and every Wednesday. But our little “twist” is that each week we will pick a famous person and pick ten of their quotes. Each of our questions will be based on the quotes. Got it? Great! Let’s begin this week’s meme! Today we picked Aretha Franklin. Here’s Wednesday Wickedness!

WEDNESDAY WICKEDNESS: ARETHA

1. “Trying to grow up is hurting, you know. You make mistakes. You try to learn from them, and when you don’t, it hurts even more.” Do you think you always learn from your mistakes? Always – No. Sometimes – Yes.

2. “I might be just twenty-six, but I’m an old woman in disguise… twenty-six goin’on sixty-five.” Have you ever felt that you were either older or younger, for your age at that time? At what time? Age is a number. Get over it already.

3. “I think the hardest thing is losing weight. That’s the hardest thing more than anything else.” Have you had trouble losing weight? A better question is have I ever tried? Hell no. Ya take me as I am.

4. “Being a singer is a natural gift.” Do you have any natural gifts? My being is a natural gift.

5. “I always felt rock and roll was very, very wholesome music.” What the most “wholesome” rock artist that you like? “What the most”? pffft. Decline to answer on the grounds I don’t get the question.

6. “I sing to the realists; people who accept it like it is.” Are you a realist? As opposed to a fakeist? Houdini probably knows the answer to this one.

7. “No one loves a party more than I. I am a people person.” Do you like to party or are you more of a homebody? My body looks anything but like a home and who doesn’t like to party. Rock On!!!

8. “I’m gonna make a gospel record and tell Jesus I cannot bear these burdens alone.” Do you feel the need to share your burdens? I have very few burdens and when i do I give them to the burro and say be off Jackass!!

9. “I’m the lady next door when I’m not on stage.” Do you know the lady next door? (yes, you can pick either side.) Yes and I’ve heard she has a Green Door!

10. “I never felt inferior or less than. I was blessed to grow up in a environment where self-worth was underscored.” Do you ever feel inferior? pffft!!!

Thanks for checking out our Wednesday craziness. We hope you join us again. Please visit our other player’s posts and make a comment. Join us next week for our next meme!

FACEBOOK

Harriet at Harriet and Friends did a great post about the privacy issues on Facebook. Yesterday morning I was listening to one of my favorite Podcasts Buzz Out Loud and came upon some more information about this privacy issue. I think the privacy issues SUCK big time on Facebook and I have taken mine and really limited it to what can and cannot be shared. It’s only me and friends basically. And that’s the way it’s going to stay.

You think you have your settings set correctly? Guess again. Go to YOUROPENBOOK.ORG. You can type in anything and you will see what others can see about you. It’s scary. One way to easily check your settings is to go to RECLAIMPRIVACY.ORG. You can drag a button into your bookmarks bar and then log into your Facebook account. It will scan your privacy settings and make suggestions.

i just wanted to share this little bit of information. I hope it helps.

Hey, it’s only my opinion.

  1. LOVE your answer to #3, but I do think that’s an easier attitude for a guy to carry than a woman. With you on #5…does anybody proof read these things??

Going to have to check out the Facebook stuff later on…have to head out to work now.

    Have a beautiful Wednesday, Thom!

  8. #16 — why should you? You’re the bestest friend EVER!

I read this yesterday and planned to leave a thank you note here for you for running my blog while I was gone — then I got to the Facebook info stuff and ran off to do that and forgot all about you. Obviously I am NOT the bestest friend ever!

    well done…

    about Facebook…all I can say is…
if it is of no purpose, we should not even put our face anywhere….

that is why my family and I will not allow me to post more pictures of myself or them…it is not being paranoid …it is being WISE..

    hugs
