Three Word Thursday #54 (You might want to read this for a TP4WW Update)

3wt

It is that time of the week. One I look forward to a great deal. And by the way Quilly, mahalo for hosting Three Word Thursday. It’s a blast and I can’t tell you how much I enjoy it. Each week Quilly at Quintessentially Quilly gives us three words to compose a story. You can get further instructions here or you can click the picture above.

This week’s words are:

jejune, adj. lacking nutritive value; devoid of significance or interest
gawp, v. look with amazement; look stupidly
roil, v. to stir up, make cloudy, disturb, rile

TP4WW UPDATE

Yes it is Wednesday and Yes you are reading my Three Word Thursday a day early but there is a method to my madness. You see once again I’m going to a roil the proverbial pot so to speak. I’m going home to where I first started blogging.

Now I know that most of you will not gawp at this decision because it wont affect you in the slightest. But to me it will have a HUGE impact. I’m sure you are by now wondering what I’ve got up my sleeve and what do I mean by going home. As you may or may not know my blog is hosted by Bluehost. I have been with them for over a year and during that time I have seen and experienced a jejune attitude from them on my part, especially when it comes to customer service. And I’m tired of it. I pay good money and it just irritates me to no end to have to go through what I do. So…….

I’m transferring my blog back to Web Considerations and they will be my host. Again, as you may or may not know Bert hosted my blog when I first started and I’m going back to where I belong. I’m very excited about this and cannot wait to do this. Bert has helped me with this blog and ScuttleButtMoTv in countless ways. He designed my theme for this blog last year and helped me with this current theme. Whenever I run into a problem he is always there and always makes me feel like I am important. The customer service that he provides is outstanding and many companies could learn and should take a page or two from his playbook. I cannot thank him enough for all he has done.

So what does this mean for you? My blog will be down for a while. This process is scheduled to begin at 7:30 AM, tomorrow 5/27/10. It shouldn’t take long but if you try and access my blog and can’t get through this will be the reason. Also there might be some hiccups or something after the transfer has happened. Knowing Bert the way I do I don’t think there will be any but if there is please just bear with me. They will be addressed. Also I ask you to please keep me posted if you notice any type of slow down with this blog or ScuttlButtMoTv as well. I have one quiz scheduled for Thursday but that will be it so if you cannot comment no worries. I will not be doing Thursday Thunks or The Dating Profiles Meme this week. Now you see why my Three Word Thursday is posted today.

Mahalo for your patiences and understanding in this. I really appreciate it.

Have a great Three Word Thursday

Hey, it’s only my opinion.

A Hui Hou

  1. Thom — you left Web Considerations b3cause Bert couldn’t handle your band width. What has changed? You know I love Bert and appreciate his work. This isn’t a reflection against him, just the size of his outfit.

    • Well he can now. We’ve been over this several times and I don’t see a problem any longer. His company is his full time business now and he has grown. The problem when I first started Q was my blog grew faster than either he or I imagined and he wasn’t ready for that and neither was I to tell you the truth. So after going through everything this is a match now that will work :)

  2. You’ll be missed! Even if it IS for a short while. All I can say is….if Bert/Web Considerations was an excellent server and blogging helper/designer…why did you leave in the first place? Non of my business I know.

This past few weeks, I have noticed that your blog takes a long time to load, but I figured it was the sidebar gadgets slowing it down….dummy me.

Now…while this is all taking place and you’re moving back—-take some blogging time off and enjoy the great outdoors on your lovely island!!!!

    • You see my friend that’s another reason I’m leaving. I don’t have that many scripts running and Bluehost refuses to help. I think it’s them myself.

I left my friend because I outgrew what he could provide at the time. Bandwith is what blogs are all about and my blog grew so quickly that he just couldn’t provide enough. Now that I have leveled off it’s been running around an amount that he can provide me with enough with room to grow.

Knowing Bert it will probably be up by the time I wake up so you won’t even know I’m gone. It will only be 0130 my time when this starts. :) . But thanks I always enjoy our islands.

  3. You know what’s best, Thom.
    Always supportive of you.
    hugs
    shakira

  4. Life is too short to pay for poor customer service. Good luck with the transfer, Thom!

  5. Bert is da bomb. He does my website too.

  6. Hope it gets all sorted out to your satisfaction!!

  7. well, good luck with your return to the roots :)
you do realise that your night is my day?(not that it matters all that much – i’ll probably be at work, then home stuff, then bowling, and by the time i find some time to look – if i find the time – it should all be settled)
oh and well incorporated 3WT words :)

  8. Well congratulations to you both! You two make a great team, and I’m glad he’s growing his business – not surprising, considering the great service he’s given you.

    Good luck!

  9. Lucy the Cat

Oh dear…I’ve been gawping all day. Now I have a word for it. Best of luck for your new site!

  10. Well, you are definitely way more advanced than I ever aspired to. Good luck with the transition and I’ll see you on the other side.

  11. Hi Everyone,

Thank you all for your well wishes and thoughts of good luck. I appreciate that.

Especially to Thom as he is a great guy not to mention a great customer.

The process started this morning at 7:30am EST and is still continuing.

It will take some time as he has a very large and quite popular site. There is a lot of data and images to be transferred.

Thanks for your patience and please not, you will not really notice (or shouldn’t) any difference. Just keep in mind that if you make a comment on his site before it is moved, it won’t be on the new site once the transfer is completed. You would have to make it again. (Like this comment won’t be on the new site).

Once all is said in done, it will back to normal.

    Thanks again,
    Bert

  12. hope all goes well with the transfer…will miss you on the 55 swing this week…

  13. best wishes!

  14. 3 more words to add to my vocabulary!

LOL, about the short comment. Maybe it is preset by the author of the theme.
