Waipio will play Ohio tomorrow in the Little League World Series

Well just by looking at these, and yes Juliana, I know this is one of your favorite types of quizzes, you can tell what you are going to get. So I’ll say it for her…pfffft

Your Thoughts Are Wild

No one understands how that brain of yours works, including you! You have a unique thought process, and it results in some pretty crazy ideas. You don’t try to limit your thoughts. When you brainstorm, the sky’s the limit. You are an uninhibited thinker and dreamer. Your ideas are extremely innovative.

I DIDN’T KNOW THAT

I’ve seen these before, but as usual, they are “like new” to me, since I forgot them. Oldie but goodie… You’re gonna say “I didn’t know that!” at least five times. Really neat stuff here.

More than half of the coastline of the entire United States is in Alaska.

ATT00021

The Amazon rainforest produces more than 20% of the world’s oxygen supply. The Amazon River pushes so much water into the Atlantic Ocean that, more than one hundred miles at sea off the mouth of the river, one can dip fresh water out of the ocean. The volume of water in the Amazon river is greater than the next eight largest rivers in the world combined and three times the flow of all rivers in the United States.

ATT00022

Antarctica is the only land on our planet that is not owned by any country. Ninety percent of the world’s ice covers Antarctica. This ice also represents seventy percent of all the fresh water in the world. As strange as it sounds, however, Antarctica is essentially a desert; the average yearly total precipitation is about two inches. Although covered with ice (all but 0.4% of it, ice.), Antarctica is the driest place on the planet, with an absolute humidity lower than the Gobi desert.

ATT00012

Brazil got its name from the nut, not the other way around.

ATT00015

ATT00002

The term ‘The Big Apple’ was coined by touring jazz musicians of the 1930s who used the slang expression ‘apple’ for any town or city. Therefore, to play New York City is to play the big time – The Big Apple. There are more Irish in New York City than in Dublin, Ireland; more Italians in New York City than in Rome, Italy; and more Jews in New York City than in Tel Aviv, Israel.

ATT00016

There are no natural lakes in the state of Ohio, every one is manmade.

It is a sovereign entity under international law, just as the Vatican is.

ATT00006

In the Sahara Desert , there is a town named Tidikelt, Algeria, which did not receive a drop of rain for ten years. Technically though, the driest place on Earth is in the valleys of the Antarctic near Ross Island. There has been no rainfall there for two million years.

I have always said, you should learn something new every day. Unfortunately, many of us are at that age where what we learn today, we forget tomorrow. But, give it a shot anyway.

Hey, it’s only my opinion.

  1. I’m creative — When it comes to thinking, you definitely like to “color outside the lines” a little.
You’re not totally wacky, but you do put your own interesting spin on the world.

You do see that I’m not totally wacky, don’t you? So glad someone recognizes it!

I have seen most of these weird/interesting things before, but since I have a very short memory these days, it’s always fun to see them again. Have a wonderful evening!
    xoxoxo

  2. My thoughts are Creative. Imagine that. :)

That is hard to believe that Ohio has only Man Made Lakes. Hmmmmm

  3. yep that last paragraph is the story of my life now…
Loved all these Thom. Thanks for posting them…

  4. Wow! That is really some interesting stuff! :D btw, I’m headed back to school on Thursday, so I’ll probably be MIA for a while. Try not to get into too much trouble without me. Wait, and we can get into trouble together. ;)

And I have no arguments with the quiz today. lol

    Your Thoughts Are Constructive
You are a highly analytical person, and you tend to sit back and cooly assess a situation. With you, logic and facts rule. And you never jump to conclusions.

You are always looking to think in new ways. You believe that reflecting is a good way to better yourself. You tend to think before you talk or act. You are calmer than most people around you.

    • Well Larisa. Drive safe and be careful on the trip. WOW year two already. Don’t forget we wanna read the thesis when you are done. Me get in trouble? I’ll wait and share the fun with you. :) this is sooo you MWAH!! Xoxo

  5. That’s just the opposite of me, lol !

Are you blog schooling now ? I learned quiet a lot and feel more intelligent. But I am also proud that I knew a few things about Antarctica, Istambul, Los Angeles, Rome and Malta ! Isn’t that something ?

  6. You can say that this is really a wild blog. My thoughts are constructive, too. I never was good with maps, but I love the new interesting facts I got to learn on this post. What nut are we talking about with Brazil? I don’t understand what it meant. LOL

  7. Thanks for sharing – I’m always open to learning something new!

  8. I got constructive as well. Partly accurate, partly not.

    Interesting facts!

  9. My thoughts are creative.

I love all of this trivia, there is always so much we don’t know about our world.

I am enjoying these posts you are doing Thom.

  10. I bet you have a hurricane in your head. :)

The only “facts’ I knew was about Damascus and Antarctica holding most of the earth’s water. All the others were new.

  11. so you spared me the trouble, eh? ;)

creative it is (allegedly) for me… you wild thing! :)

imagine that, most fact i didn’t know were US related

    • Indeed. I’m always think of you :) That’s hard to believe that you didn’t know ALL of these. Must be the cold weather creeping in to your neck of the woods :)

  12. You are RIGHT – even though I have seen many of those before – I’d totally forgotten them — so I could (and really still CAN) say “I didn’t know that!” to all of it! :)

    My THOUGHT BUBBLE said…

    Your Thoughts Are Creative
When it comes to thinking, you definitely like to “color outside the lines” a little.
You’re not totally wacky, but you do put your own interesting spin on the world.

For you, every contrast is a little bit deeper and every idea is a little more profound.
Amazing things can come from your thoughts. You’ve got a lot of original ideas in there.

But it was toss-up with yours! We’ll suffice it to say I’m a weird thinker…

    • A weird thinker my darlin”? I don’t think so…well maybe just a little. :) LOL You are definitely creative :) I think we are some of both of them myself :)

  13. thom, here’s what I said about pearl Harbor in response to your comment: Thom, have you gone through the Pearl Harbor presentation? It is open and fair and sensitive to the feelings of the Japanese. I was surprised but heartened..

  14. You are educational, too! Wow! Who’da guess???

  15. Your Thoughts Are Emotional
It often seems like you think with your heart instead of your head. Passion is often clouding that brain of yours.
It’s hard for you to be aware of your own thoughts, and you find yourself acting before you think things through.

Your thoughts often overwhelm other people, and they sometimes overwhelm you. You tend to say whatever is on your mind.

Loved all the facts and I’m still looking at that drilled hole! :)
You react quickly and change your mind just as fast. You’re always thinking about something!

  16. I’m creative….and awestruck by your worldly knowledge. Cool stuff!

  17. Thanks for this learning post, Thom. I remember Damascus mentioned in Bible games in school.

My thoughts are constructive, according to the bubble test, analytical too. I say yes until emotions get in the way, lol!

  18. I tried to take the thought bubble test but the damn thing is still “waiting” to answer. I don’t really care to waste a whole day waiting for it — that tells me I am impatient and temperamental. Quiz over.

I liked this post. I kept reading even though I knew most of this stuff. What I didn’t know about was the 7 mile deep hole. Way cool!

    • I had problems with the quiz this morning as well. Maybe it’s getting popular LOL Yeah I liked all of these too. And that 7 mile deep hole is way cool :)

  19. If only 1% of all road in USA are unpaved, then 80% of all unpaved roads must be in Montana. Unless they don’t count logging roads.

  20. I love learning new things! I didn’t know that about Istanbul, that’s fascinating!
