A true friend doesn’t care when you’re broke, if your house is a mess, about your past, or if your family is filled with crazies… they love you for who you are. 1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.

One little update that I have to tell you that most of you will know already because there are two big bucket mouth bloggers among us. And no pointing fingers at me because I am not one of them LOL *me crosses his fingers behind his back and hopes everyone buys that line of BS. Anyhow, I lost all of my photos that I took from my arrival in Seattle through Monday. Don’t ever buy a Cruzer Flash Drive from Scan Disk. They are crappy. This one just burned out. I’ve sent it to a place in Wisconsin to see if they can retrieve the pictures at a cost of $200.00. And if that way doesn’t work they can charge me $800.00 to get them. I’ve decided they are worth $200.00 but not $800.00. So I’m hopeful. We shall see soon I hope. But I have uploaded the pictures that I took after that to My Flickr Account. I’m debating right now as to how long I’m going to stay with Flickr because I have the use of my MobileMe Gallery that I like but there is no place to leave comments. And that doesn’t bother me at all because I get very few comments on my photos I post in Flickr so who cares actually. I’m not to worried about that because the photos I want people to see are always posted here on this blog. So you can check out my MobileMe Gallery if you want.

Now I know I said I wouldn’t be back this week and I’m not going to be much. But I wanted to get something out about the trip and the following two videos that I took with my camera while on vacation gave me something interesting to try. Trust me, I’m not good at doing videos either. Getting in focus is hard to do for me and doing video is no exception to that rule. And in the second video you will see where the color went to black and white, and I don’t know what button I pushed wrong, but it gives the video some spice if you ask me. Anyway I used my iMovie for the first time so don’t expect Academy Award material. But I had a good time putting them together. The first one is of the Eagles that Quilly and Susan have posted about and the second one is about the Locks in Seattle. They are both posted on my YouTube account as well as my MobileMe Gallery that you can get the link by clicking above, so I’m just going to copy and paste the description from there here. Less typing for me. WOOT!!! I hope you enjoy and I’ll be back hopefully next week Monday full time.

Eagles: “Well here’s my first video I have ever done. I know the filming isn’t the best but at least you get the idea about the eagles. They were an awesome site to see. This was taken on San Juan Island, Washington. The eagles were just fed by the sheriff is what someone told us so they basically come out of the woodwork. Whatever gets them out was cool by me because this was some site to see. Ooops it’s not the first? video. I have a couple of others in here.”

Locks: “This is the only other video I did while on vacation. It’s the locks in Seattle. Lake Union is higher than Puget Sound and is fresh water. So when the boats, including tour boats, want to go through, they have to raise and lower the water to get them to the appropriate height. It’s pretty cool to watch and see how it works. I don’t know what I did to get the black and white on the last portion of the video but oh well you will get the drift, if you pardon the pun. The big bridge in the last portion, two sail boats had to wait when they got out of the locks to pass through until the raised the bridge and a train was just going through. It was a cool site the whole thing to see.”

On another note and most likely because Ella didn’t listen to my instructions on how to get my pictures off my camera and onto my flash drive because she was too busy boozing and smoking (Yeah I had a few sips and puffs as well) it has come to my attention that two bucket mouths have let the cat out of the proverbial bag already. That being said, yes I lost all of my pictures from my camera from the start of my trip through yesterday. Something happened to the flash drive and it gets real hot now and doesn’t start up. Oh wait, I know, it was Quilly, Susan and Ella all partying and saying here we know how to do it. We will get your pictures transferred. PFFFFFT….

And SOME BIG NEWS!!!. Sorry Quilly that I didn’t think of this last month. Beginning this month I’m am adding a $15.00 gift card as a prize for the 1000th commentor. But the fun doesn’t stop there boys and girls. On January 1st of the next year all 1000th commentors for the previous year will be put in the Random Number Generator and the winner will be awarded a $50.00 gift card. WOOT!!!!

1. All Monthly Commentors will be entered into the Random Number Generator in monthly order and a winner will be picked by said Random Number Generator.

It is that time of the week. One I look forward to a great deal. And by the way Quilly, mahalo for hosting Three Word Thursday. It’s a blast and I can’t tell you how much I enjoy it. JerriLynn was fuming mad. She knew that BettySue tainted the chocolate covered strawberries with what must have been ex-lax. The toilet paper had been her odynometer. Six rolls in a day and a half! It was no wonder her buttocks were on fire leaving JerriLynn in excruciating pain. Lying still on a towel covered with ice she decided she need to call Yelleka.

Yelleka was a brilliant attorney. She knew both JerriLynn and BettySue from childhood and was shocked at the story that JerriLynn was relating to her over the phone.

“I’m going to get even with that bitch if it is the last thing I do. You think a brephophagist is evil, well you haven’t seen anything yet” JerriLynn spat.

“Calm down” Yelleka said in a very soothing voice. “Revenge is never an answer JerriLynn. You know that as well as I do. First and foremost, you don’t know if she had anything to do with tainting the strawberries….”

“I haven’t eaten anything else since I purchased them. She had to do something to them” JerriLynn interrupted. “I know her. My sister is as evil as me.”

“As I was saying there are other possibilities to factor into the equation. Bad strawberries. Bad chocolate. An unsanitary kitchen. Just to name a few. You are acting, JerriLynn, as if she is guilty before we know all the facts. We will question her and see what she knows and proceed from there” Yelleka responded. Continuing. “We will be prepared like the great sagittipotent William Tell. If our first set of questions do not produce the truth, we will rely on our back-up set of facts and blackmail her” the eldest of the three sisters said. “And before you ask, it’s a metaphor to his arrows JerriLynn” Yelleka smiled.

Yelleka had dirt on both her sisters and hoped she never would have to resort to using it, but if worse came to worse, she would. JerriLynn would not rest until BettySue paid a price for those tainted chocolate covered strawberries.

Reading my comments about Dr. John’s Funeral Service Mimi Lenox at Mimi Writes……. asked about a Guest Book. Well this got me thinking so I came home from work and created one. Mahalo Mimi for the wonderful idea. I really appreciate it.

It’s real easy to do. You just click on the link below and it will take you to the Guest Book, which is under Pages on my sidebar. Then you put your name, choose a picture, put your location and leave a message and submit. Now it might not appear right away. I have put into it that I have to approve the signing. The reason I did this was to hopefully weed out the spam that we all despise.

And I would like some help from you. I would like to get as many people as we can to sign the Guest Book and then present it to Betty and the family. So if you would post something about the Guest Book on your blog and send them over here to sign it I would really appreciate it. It can be our tribute to the fantastic Dr. John. Here is the link:

You’re the type of person who works behind the scenes, making sure to bring out the best in everyone else. It’s likely that people don’t appreciate you for who you are. But people would sure miss you if you were gone. A little of you goes a long way. You have a very powerful impact on the world, even if it’s a bit subtle at times. At the end of the tax year, the IRS office sent an inspector to audit the books of a local hospital. While the IRS agent was checking the books he turned to the CFO of the hospital and said, “I notice you buy a lot of bandages. What do you do with the end of the roll when there’s too little left to be of any use?”

“Good question,” noted the CFO. “We save them up and send them back to the bandage company and every now and then they send us a free box of bandages.”

“Oh,” replied the auditor, somewhat disappointed that his unusual question had a practical answer. But on he went, in his obnoxious way. “What about all these plaster purchases? What do you do with what’s left over after setting a cast on a patient?”

“Ah, yes,” replied the CFO, realizing that the inspector was trying to trap him with an unanswerable question. “We save it and send it back to the manufacturer, and every now and then they send us a free package of plaster.”

“I see,” replied the auditor, thinking hard about how he could fluster the know-it-all CFO. “Well,” he went on, “What do you do with all the leftover foreskins from the circumcisions you perform?”

“Here, too, we do not waste,” answered the CFO. “What we do is save all the little foreskins and send them to the IRS Office, and about once a year they send us a complete dick.”

So here is my entry. My last night in Seattle we went to Ivar’s on Pier 54 for dinner. Our waitress there talked so fast and was buzzing all about. At first we thought what have we gotten ourselves into. She was like the Tasmanian Devil on roller skates. Well she’s just efficient and knows her stuff. Was very pleasant and very thorough. I asked her for her picture and she obliged. She is pictured with my brother and my niece.

It is with a heavy heart that I learned today that Dr. John has passed away. I want to send my condolences and Aloha to Betty, their children, their spouses, grandchildren and extended family.

I’m really going to miss Dr. John and Fandango. I have known them for about a year now and in that year I grew to love them as if I had actually met. One of a kind I tell you. Funny, Witty, Smart, Grouchy, Compassionate, Friendly and Loving are just a few descriptive words that come to mind when I think of him. And Pigeon Falls. Quircky, Strange, Odd, Hopeful, Entertaining. Oh I will miss that a great deal. I have never met a man that loved words like he did. Something I will cherish for a lifetime. I can’t tell you what a pleasure it was to get to know him. Our world is going to be a little more empty now because of his passing but my memories of Dr. John will be with me for a life time.

You know when you are a great man you have an impact on everyone. Take a look at this from Susan:

Congratulations Pictures – Pictures

The Honolulu Police Department has a new Lieutenant today. She is just one of a handful, along with other promoted ranks, that go into effect today at HPD. The ceremony was held January 20th and today is when the promotions actually happen. It was a ceremony with only one speech by Chief Kealoha as they just got down to business by acknowledging all those being promoted. Congratulations Lisa on your promotion. I’m real proud of you. You are gonna be a great Lieutenant. If you go to my Flickr account you can see all the pictures. I don’t know why the pictures inside were all so blurry but that’s just me and I posted them anyway. LOL. Sorry Lisa about that. Good thing Lori was there to take good photos LOL.

Just for the fun of it, I decided to throw a new game out for every one. Seems we haven’t played anything lately, or at least nothing I’ve heard of. So…

That up there is my ceiling fan. The damn thing doesn’t work very well. There’s one chain on it that turns on the light and the other the fan. Well the chain that controls the light is broken. Of course I have to have the light switch on. Well because it’s broken I have to manually turn the bulb, which is one of those EXPENSIVE energy saver bulbs, which you really have to get use to the light that comes out of it, to turn it on and off. So if it’s on and the fan is one and I want to turn it off I have to turn the bulb so the fan stays on. It’s a pain. Why don’t I get it fixed? Pure laziness and besides I have this wonderful other floor fan that I use all the time so I just control this beast with the light switch. Wow, I never thought I could talk so much about a ceiling fan. Well that’s What Is Above My Bed. Your turn
