Sensational Haiku Wednesday – FreeStyle!

written by Thom - August 17th, 2010 at 3:01 pm

Sensational Haiku Wednesday is hosted by Jenn at You know… that Blog?. Mahalo Jenn for hosting.

The basics:

Haiku is simple! It is 3 non-rhyming lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables respectively (a great way to use your fingers!). You can get further information by clicking HERE.

This week’s theme is: FREESTYLE!

On learns by numbers.
Perfect your art. Graduate.
Paint. Hand. Brush. Beauty

  1. Vanessa hasn’t been hitting the Southern Comfort yet has she? These are brand new shoes and I don’t think they are Puke Proofed….

I have a Haiku, and I posted it over at my Blog.

    Heres another one..

    • And let’s hope people don’t puke from all my comments LOL :) I don’t think she has but you never know what that woman is up to LOL :)

  2. Nice, Thom! Very nice! Love it!

Hey G-Man… what’s your link, dude? It’s broken on your comment. And are you joining our haiku meme? It’ll be live in about 1 hour… 20 mins. ;)

  3. Very creative. I don’t think I’m going to make it again this week. Jenn will be kicking me out!

  4. That’s cool! Whenever I see those puzzles I just pass on them–they look to difficult for me =)

  5. That’s a neat machine, Thom. I might save it for a rainy day. I do see how you program its form. Next I will have to get the knack of which row/column is filled first (i.e. the sequence timing).
.. Oh yes, you have a nice haiku as well! :)
    ..

  6. great play with words again… as always. it sounds profound and the puzzle doesn’t help. hmmmm… you profound? i like the result though.

  7. Very cool I have been staring at this for about 5 minutes now. I liked you Haiku as well, art is not something I would think of off the top of my head but I should have, since Leighann is a budding artist. Future should be fun next week too!

    • Thanks. Yes Mama should have thought about art LOL :) This wasn’t what I wanted to go with it but when I found it I thought it was pretty cool. Glad you enjoyed sweetie :) xoxoxx

  8. why do you always pack so many verbs in these poor 17 syllables? cos this has nothing whatsoever to do with haiku and it grates my sensibilities (sorry)!
    cool graphics, though

    • Because i’m not good in English and I just put words down. It would do me good then if you could point me to what a haiku is suppose to be about. I certainly do not want to grate your sensibilities more than I already do LOL

      • you know, sometimes being good at something is more of a curse than a blessing as you see all the imperfections of others’ work much more clearly
and i don’t like calling something a spade when in fact it’s a mattock

everything written in 17 syllables is not haiku. in fact, 99% of the stuff is something else.
haiku is about seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary and telling it in as few words as possible

        • Understood and thanks. I have said it once that regardless of what a true Haiku is suppose to be, these are the rules and the way this Meme is played. Now if I could do a haiku the way you do I’d love it but I’m not that talented. So I just go with what I got. Be it right or be it wrong. I’m going to keep this in mind about seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary :)

  9. I always like your haikus. You can write them for any subject. Very impressive!

  10. By brush or number—
how will you paint the portrait
    of the dowager?

  11. Hey! I can hear you two. I was going to say something nice but now i don’t think I will.

    :)
