The Holleys host Scenic Sunday. Thanks a lot for hosting. From the Scenic Sunday blog comes this:
“Scenic Sunday is a photo meme of the scenery. It can be landscapes, buildings, flowers, or anything you feel it’s a scenery photo. This meme will be held every Weekend. To join, just post your scenery shots on your blog and link back to Scenic Sunday. Please do visit each other and comment.”
I found this picture in my archives and wanted to share it with you this week. It’s a photo of Downtown Honolulu taken from the Chinese Cemetery in Manoa Valley. It was a hazy day that day but you get a good view of downtown. Waikiki, just for your information, would be farther down to the left of the photo. I have also put one in as Black and White. I like it even better. I hope you enjoy.
Have a very happy Scenic Sunday everyone!
Hey, it’s only my opinion.

Nice shot Thom. I’ve only been to the Hawaii once in 1997. It would be good to re-visit with a blogger’s eye :0)
Indeed it would and thank you. A lot has really changed but also a lot as remained the same.
Great capture!
Thank you
What a great view! I love the natural framing that the tree makes. Your comments are so touching and very nice. I just want you to know how much we appreciate them.
Thanks my friend!
You are most welcome and I’m glad you enjoyed
That’s a great angle. I don’t normally see shots of downtown w/so many treats like that!
Thanks me either. I’m glad you like the angle.
Got lucky
That’s a cool birds eyeview ….. great shot!

You have framed the skyline really beuatifully with the branches:) Nice shot!
Thanks. You know when I take the photo I don’t even think of stuff like that and when it comes out it just happens
Well, I’ve been leaving comments for you, but they’re not showing up. Dunno what’s up with that.
Loved the sh!tty weekend funny you shared, and I voted for YOU!—Now, these photos of Honolulu are superb Thom. It’s been eons since I’ve been there…it’s grown. LOL
Glad you enjoyed that shitty post LOL I left ya a note on your blog. Glad you liked this and yes it has grown up
I like the mixture of buildings with the greenery.
Thanks. It is a good mixture I think
I like the black and white one too – I don’t know, I think the haziness adds to the photo, and I like the way the distant metal city is framed in leafy trees. Usually in a city we think of green parks surrounded by skyscrapers, but here you’ve reversed it — cool!
I thought it added just a little bit more reality to the picture also. Something different. After you say it like that I see what you are talking about. Talk about lucky on my part LOL
You framed this scene SO beautifully! I think I like the black and white…so classic looking.
I agree with you. B&W is my favorite I think
Mahalo my friend
I love that view! I know it is hard to believe, but that cemetery was one of my favorite places!
And the first time I ever visited this cemetery was with you.
i love how the tree frame softens the concrete skyline! BW is my favourite
I got lucky on that one my friend.
Glad you like and yup the B&W is my fav as well
heavenly beautiful!
I very glad you liked. Thanks!
Beautiful captures!
For some reason I have imagined Honolulu more flat.
Weird
Thanks. Nope it’s got plenty of mountains.
I didn’t imagine that there were such high modern buildings in Hawai !
There are plenty if them here.
Gorgeous View
Thanks!
Love your photos! What a great look at your city! Sorry I’m so late getting around to everyone, things have been a little hectic here! Hope you’ve had a great weekend or whatever!
Sylvia
No worries my friend. I’m glad you enjoyed
