Saturday 9 – I Want You Back oh and I’m Back
Okay…first things first. I think I’m back…Aren’t ya excited? LOL. Stupid me didn’t make a copy of my files and that was what the problem was. Bert at Web Considerations did most of the work on this today and got it up and running. You talk about customer service, I tell you that’s it. Thank you Bert. You are the bomb. Okay some house cleaning now. I didn’t or couldn’t do Friday’s memes. Better luck next week. Secondly My Birthday Contest. Since I did no post Friday, June 26, 2009 you will get two hints today:
My Birthday Contest Clue 4: Althea Gibson
My Birthday Contest Clue 5: Click Here and have a look around
There will be one more clue on Sunday…Then you must have your guess in by June 30, 2009 at 11:59 pm. Good Luck

Welcome to Saturday 9. What we’ve committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do “random questions,” so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don’t have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today’s meme!
1. Where were you when you heard that Michael Jackson died? At work in our TV room. I got an email notice and made them change the channel to any news channel. Everyone was glued to the TV for a while at least. Then it was off to driving.
2. How do you think that he will be remembered? Hard to say. People tend to always remember the bad things the most and in his later years in life he pulled some dumb things. But I think a legend and always as the King of Pop. He was a true genius.
3. What was your favorite Jackson tune?
4. Did you watch the original Charlie’s Angels? Yup.
5. Did someone you know have that poster of Farrah? Of course.. I’m sure every boy did.

6. Did you consider her battle with cancer heroic? I think everyone that has or had to battle it is heroic. Speaking of which, I invited you to visit Brenda at Brenda’s Blog from Paraguay. Talk about putting on a heroic battle. Brenda is the bomb.
7. Were you a fan of The Tonight Show Starring Johnnie Carson? Some. It was on too late for me. I liked when he did Karnak:
8. Did you like Ed McMahon on the show? Yeah he was real loyal to the show and to Johnny I think.
9. What else will you remember McMahon for? Star Search
Hey, it’s only my opinion.

I was never a big fan of Michael Jackson, Farrah was very underrated and did really good work. She was my favorite Angel.
The Tonight Show was never any good once Johnny Retired. I loved Karnac but when Johnny panned the Audience for faces for his “Edge of Wetness” the reaction on the crowd was hilarious.
You did good Grasshopper, liked your answers.
Found a clip on youtube for The Edge of Wetness. Just listnening to Johnny and Ed laugh in the background is too funny.
Thank you for sharing the link. I didn’t recall what you were talking about. I can’t remember him doing this…it was funny
Just search Youtube for “Edge of Wetness”, I found three last night. I was chuckling on the way to bed. (Insert your own joke)
LOL…thanks for the info I’ll have to look into that…
I forgot about Katers, she was an awesome Angel as well.
Oh and David Carradine passing as well…what a month it’s been. Kate Jackson was my fav.
I have always wanted to kick myself whenever I have a computer crash and realize I forgot to back up my files. But the last time it really wasn’t my fault. I had recently backed up my story to the remote server and had no idea that the hard drive was on the highway to hell. I wrote more and it was critical stuff–I had to wait until after paying $500 to get the data off the old hard drive to be able to start working again. That blew!
I imagine so. Well my problem was I thought the transfer would do all of this and that I would be able to go and do it later. Oh well…such is life
Yeah, well, if you would have listened to me …..
Hush
Any particular reason why you’ve ignored my last two posts? Too much emailing, so you forget you’ve not visited?
Umm possibly I’m picking up too much mail and glasses and having to go to the post office. Lol
Hi Thom!
Remember that Carson skit?
Seems lame now but, it was funny.
Good list.

You are so right…it was funny…thanks for comment
welcome back LOL
Why thank you…glad you enjoyed the list
LOL
RIP to them all. Have a good Saturday
Agreed and you too
Glad you are back and Bert is the bomb.
May all of their troubled souls finally rest in peace.
Isn’t that the truth…all of them were troubled in one way or the other
I never liked Michael Jackson…not my thing…never was…although there’s no denying he’s one of the World’s biggest and most successful stars…It just wasn’t there for me…sorry
Now Miss Fawcett that’s another story
To each his own I always say. I just thought he was an amazing entertainer…Farrah as well…she wasn’t my fav. I liked Kate Jackson
Sorry to hear about your hard drive adventures…I was wondering where you been now I know…remember being hard is what it’s all about…so keep that hard drive up and running and back up your files.
LOL…i do keep that hard drive up…but this time…well not enough viagra I suppose LOL
Glad everything seems to be working ok again!
It’s been a strange week, hasn’t it? The Tonight Show was too late for me, too, and the humor sometimes too off color for me, but I’ve seen some clips that were hilarious.
Well I think it should be a okay now. Yeah I didn’t watch it all the time. As I said…it was on too late for me
My favorite Michael Jackson song was Ben. Only because it came from the time in his life when he was still young, sweet, and innocent. I do AGREE that he had some awesome music – and dances – but I never did like him as an adult. Ever.
I saw Charlie’s Angels a few times – my oldest daughter liked it. I thought Farrah really claimed her right to be called an actress in The Burning Bed. She was wonderful! And yes – ANYONE who battles cancer is a hero!
I LOVED Johnny Carson! I don’t think a funnier man has ever lived! And Ed McMahon was THE perfect sidekick for him! They just went together like hand & glove!
I am guessing your birthday today! I may kick myself when tomorrow’s clue comes… but I’m goin for it anyway!
I forgot about Ben…but you are so right…he was very innocent back then. She was great in the burning bed. Great show.
Glad to see you back and publishing. Michael was not one of my favorite stars but he did cut quite a path in the music industry.
I liked this as a tribute to all of them
Thanks
Me too it was a great tribute to all 3…very well done on the questions
And thanks…it’s great to be back
Karnac was the bomb. Well done. Enjoy your Saturday…
I think so too. Have a good one yourself
Good grief, Ed McMahon too? What a week of losses. I hate to hear of people dying so young.
I LOVED your cancer answer. I lost my Dad and oldest sister to it, and my favourite sister has bone cancer now. Probably my turn next….hate hate hate it.
And I am SO glad you’re back. I was in withdrawal yesterday.
Oh my goodness I’m sorry to hear about all the people with cancer in your family. And don’t ever say that about yourself. Those 3 kids of yours need you Well maybe they just want the house on the beach drinking beer, belching, eating pupu’s and watching naked hula dancers
Don’t worry Thom…I will NOT leave this earth while there are naked hula dancers in front of me! LOL And yes, my kids are good at belching. It’s all the beer they drink I think.
They must have learned it from Mama LOL
YAAAAY!!! You’re back! So glad to hear it all worked out. You GO, boy!
This has been SUCH a week of people passing, hasn’t it? I had heard about Farrah while I was at work, and then when I came home that evening the lady at the security desk in my apartment building informed me about Michael Jackson!
I grew up with both of them. Thiller will always be my favorite Micheal Jackson album. And Farrah of course was my favorite angel! I always wanted my hair to look like hers. tee, hee!
Have a great weekend, Thom!
LOL…you mean your hair didn’t look like hers? LOL. I’m shocked and saddened. Yeah what a week it was. Something else. Have a great weekend yourself
Glad you got your files sorted and I enjoyed reading your meme answers.
Clue #5 for your birthday competition has managed to completely flummox me!
Maybe the last one tomorrow will tie it all in
Three disparate entertainers forever linked by their deaths during the same week.
So true my friend
Welcome back, Thom. Of course, we wouldn’t have to be saying that if you’d have listened to me, Mr.-I-hate-to-talk-on-telephones.
I very much like this meme. I thought about doing it myself, but I think anything I would have to say is pretty much a repeat of what I’ve been reading across the net.
Bite me!! yes it’s all been said I think over and over…just the shock of it all I suppose. And glad to be back
DON’T say bite me to a person covered in mosquito bites! It really isn’t funny!
LOL…okay then spray me with mosquito repellent LOL
May they all RIP!
Indeed
OK, Thom, since I know when your birthday is, and have therefore been disqualified, I haven’t been doing much research on your clues. When you reveal the date are you also going to explain the clues? Thanks, I hope all is well with you.
Sorry that you are disqualified…sigh…ain’t it hell that you and I have known each other since…ummm almost birth LOL. Yes’ I’m going to reveal what the clues mean as well. Things are good…Hope all is well with you, Dirk the kids and grandkids
Once again, great minds think alike, dude! My answers are very much like yours. Just think of what we could do to — I mean FOR — the world if we were in charge of things!
Happy Saturday to you.
Oh isn’t that the truth. Great minds do think alike
Indeed she was
Is Nalu having too many walks?
Nope…he’s enjoying them as a matter of fact. And loves picking up the mail etc.
