One Year Ago Today… and Musical Monday – What Moves You?
My wonderful Grandmother
A year ago, March 8, 2009, my Grandmother passed away. It was a sad day for my entire family but mainly on my Mom. She lived with her ever since my Grandfather passed years earlier. They were as thick as thieves and to this day my Mom still talks about missing her and their little talks, their shopping and just being with each other. We all miss her terribly. She was one of a kind. Ruled our family with an iron fist but was one of the most giving and loving women I have ever known. And boy could she cook. So GM, know that my thoughts are with you more today than usual. I love you more than words, either written or spoken can say. And since my Grandmother had brown eyes I thought what an appropriate song. I searched high and low for an original and couldn’t find one so just sit back and listen to Van Morrison singing Brown Eyed Girl It’s got me moving this week. Rest In Peace GM.

I love ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ for your Grandmother! I’ll be thinking of you and your Mom today; anniversaries are hard. Last week was my mother’s birthday and I still miss her every day.
Van Morrison grew up a few miles away from where my husband did. Definitely not on the same side of town however LOL

Thank you my friend. I was indeed lucky. I remember growing up and my friends not having their grandparents. And the older I got the more thankful I got. She was a great woman. I’m glad you liked the song

Ah, grandmas, mine also was a very special one and I loved her so much. I lived with my grandparents when I was little.
Indeed they are. We would go to my grandparents every Sunday. I would work out in the yard with my GF all day. Then we would have dinner. It was fun. When I moved from Carson, every summer I would come to Carson and live with them and work at their hardware store
It is nice that you had such an influence in your life. I love the song dedication. May you memories bring great happiness this day.

What a beautiful tribute to your grandmother! My DH’s Granny passed away about a year ago and she was the center of a very large Scottish family. We all felt the same about our dear Granny as you did about your grandmother. (((HUGS)))

Oh what a wonderful grandmother she was. I think of her constantly every day. I miss her so and know that she is watching over all of us. She was such a standard bearer in our family. I will never forget her as long as I live. I love you GM, /kisses Laurie
