Not a Lot of Blogging Today – Michael’s Memorial

I just want to let you all know I will not be blogging much today. There will be no quiz. I’m very interested in Michael Jackson’s services and will be watching them in their entirety. Then work calls. Barry Gordy just said it the best. Michael isn’t the King of Pop. He’s the greatest entertainer of all times. Brooke Shields, you hit a home run. That so came from the heart and you brought a side to him that very few were lucky enough to see. Thank you Brooke. You are the bomb! Jennifer Hudson…you go girl. That was a fantastic tribute to him. You are the best :) Being performed with the singers as it was going to be done in his show was awesome. Paris my heart goes out to all of you. Your tribute to your father was the most touching part of the Memorial. We Are The World. Awesome. Again done on how it was to be done in his show. All of you did so good. It was truly and amazing Memorial. Rest In Peace Michael.

  1. I’m just watching his memorial service now.

  2. There will never be another. See you back in full Steam tomorrow.

Oh, I think the Anonymous Emailer has hit again.

Have fun at work. I was called this morning and on Thursday and Friday I have courses on updating the Defensive Driving, All the drivers are going through the refresher. Maybe we will be told about the TPP ;)

  3. Mee too, I watched the memorial…

  4. Most of us envy people’s money and fame but money and fame were unable to give this unhappy man what he needed: peace.
It’s such a shame that the fire injured him so badly. From what I understand he was in chronic pain after that and things went downhill from there. Years of painkillers probably contributed to a weakening of his heart and certainly couldn’t have been doing his liver any good.
In a different genre of music, but Leon Wilkeson of Lynyrd Skynyrd died at only 49. He smoked heavily, which Michael Jackson did not, but like Michael Jackson, he was on pain killers and anti-anxiety medications for years following the tragic plane crash that killed several of his band mates and crew. His heart and liver also suffered from these years of dependence on these medications.
Sorry for the rant. I just was thinking that as a whole, nobody knows what’s really going on with anyone else. I certainly didn’t know that Michael Jackson was suffering as much as he was physically. I hope he finds peace now.

  5. Heck. I turned the tv on for a while this morning to see what they were doing, but all I saw was a half-hour of a black limo going down a freeway, sort of like when they showed O.J.’s Bronco for a hour or so. I gave up, had other things to do.

  6. I just stayed away from it. The spectacle is not what I want to remember. I want to remember the little Michael Jackson I grew up watching and listening to.

  7. I saw some snippets of it on the news, his little girl broke my heart, poor thing.Interesting comment from Lily Strange I found here. I had no idea! I did not know he got burnt? So that’s why he needed the plastic surgery then? I did not know?
I hope he finds peace now.

  8. It certainly was a service for an icon. My prayers for his family. This kind of thing is hard enough on the average family.

  9. Haven’t seen any of it, but I’m glad they did him justice!

  10. its only a shame that when the scandal was on not a lot of people dfended him….i really hope he feels happy now and at peace

  11. I saw bits and pieces of the memorial. I was in tears when I heard his daughter talk. I have to catch up on the photo blog hop. They had over 800 people. Sigh.. I am only 156 way through it. Hope you have a good day!

    • Yeah his daughter was awesome. I’m not doing that any longer. I don’t need people that just come for a comment to up their numbers. I like to develop friendships etc so I’m not going to be doing that any longer :)

        • You see…here’s a perfect example. A simple smiley face. True friendship…how many from those bloghops would do that. I’m so lucky and my Belgian Bombshell, it’s people like you that make this so amazing :)

      • I was disappointed. I spent so long going through all them blogs and only a hand few comment back to them thanking you for stopping by. Then others you have to dig around there site to find the post which may or may not be there. I think I will stick with my Saturday Linky Love! :)

        • I think you are a smart woman in that respect. Stacie. That’s why I am not doing it. It’s all for numbers…and it’s so much better to have a developed friendship blog than just look for them. I’m with ya on this my friend :) Aloha :)

  12. I was so touched by the service as well you are so right about brook and her thoughts coming straight from the heart I thought WOW this actually placed a reality side on M. Jackson. Cool. I have always been a fan, hubby not so much he kept telling me he was going to turn it but he did not and he watched it pretty much right side of me. God Bless those children and that family.

    • Wasn’t that great that we did get to hear about the real MJ. Thank you Brooke for bringing that side of him to light. Thanks for the great comment :)

  13. I was balling the ENTIRE time. Still can’t believe he’s gone.

  14. Hi Tom, I had the TV on in the background and every once in a while I,d stop what I was doing and looked up. Brooke Shields gave me the truest sense of what I chose to remember about him. And since my daughter is the same age as Paris, I was reduced to a sobbing mess as I ached for her. Knowing what the pain of losing a father is… I do hope he finally finds Peace.

    • Thank you for the wonderful comment and for taking the time to visit my blog. It’s much appreciated. I hope he finally is at peace and his children will be left alone to grow up and enjoy their childhood :)
