Musical Monday is all about making friends and sharing the music that we love. And we think the more the merrier! I would like to thank Diane at Good Mourning, Glory! for hosting Musical Monday. Diane is currently taking a break so our dear sweet Amanda at Moorebloglife is doing the hosting duties. Mahalo Amanda for taking over for a while. That’s so sweet of you. From Amanda’s blog comes the following:

“Next week is the beginning of July so the theme is patriotic! Show your colors!”

This was a very easy choice for me. Jennifer Hudson sang our National Anthem for Super Bowl XLIII. It was her first public performance after tragic murder of her mother, brother and nephew. She nailed it and I have never heard a better rendition. Of course there are those that think others have sang it much better. Be that as it may her rendition of The Star Spangled Banner has me moving this week. I hope you enjoy.

Have a Happy Musical Monday Everyone!

Hey, it’s only my opinion.

  1. I love her! American idol was the best thing that happened to her, she’s our American Idol!

  2. Gorgeous voice. I can’t imagine going through what she went through.

  3. Wonderful choice! Jennifer Hudson is so talented. Have a wonderful week. xoxoxo

    • Well I made a mistake with the link so you’ll get another fav of mine next week. I just remembered her doing this at the superbowl and just put her name in the YouTube search. There are plenty of her. I love her to death. I can’t believe you didn’t hear about her when this all came down. Poor thing. No I don’t watch glee. Never have xoxox

  5. She is such an inspiration…now more than ever!

  6. This is wonderful and even more so when you consider the tragedy she had just endured.

I just downloaded a free radio app on my Blackberry to use at the gym (it’s so boring otherwise). You pick a song or artist, and it develops a radio station around that kind of music. I picked the Temptations and had a great workout to all motown.

    • That is so true. Do you use Pandora as an app? If not you should check it out. It’s the bomb!!!

      • How funny. Yes, it’s Pandora. It’s the first app I’ve ever downloaded, and yes, it’s the bomb!!

        • I just subscribed to Pandora One. It gives you more than 40 hours of music. Crap No need to download any more song and pay for them LOL Glad you like it :)

  7. That was remarkably professional of her.

  8. Great pick! You rock for getting a head start on your red, white and blue! Guess I need to think of something patriotic for next Monday!

    • Glad you liked. I jumped the gun. I thought the post was last week for this week. Oh well. So I’ve already got another ready for next week. :)
