Musical Monday – What Moves You?

Musical Monday is all about making friends and sharing the music that we love. And we think the more the merrier! I would like to thank Diane for hosting Musical Monday
.

Many of you have probably seen this but I think it’s worth another look. There is a prison in Cebu, Philippines that has a warden, at least I think he’s the warden on the CNN video of this they call him the boss, named Byron Garcia. He believes that dancing is good rehabilitation for the inmates. They have many videos up but Michael Jackson’s Thriller made them famous and it’s got me moving this week. Enjoy.

    At first I’m thinking how did they get a woman for this then looking closer it’s a dude… scary looking one at that. This is a great video and very fun to watch – thanks for sharing.

      Scary isn’t the word LOL. But I do enjoy the video and you should see how many they have done. It’s just wonderful :) Glad you enjoyed :)

    Well, dancing is good exercise and synchronized dancing is good for teaching discipline, order and cooperation, so why not? But you want to know what is really funny? I have seen this many times and, despite wondering why the dancers are all dressed like prison escapees, I never realized that they ARE prisoners.

      You are so right and it amazes me that you never realized they were actually prisoners. You of all people who like to know everything about anything. Glad I could be the teacher to you for once :)

    I hadn’t seen this before, but that is absolutely amazing! I thought the same thing about the “lady”. I thought “Wow. They must be pretty open to congenial visits, until I realized “she” was a he.

    Could you see this happening in our prisons? If you stepped on someone’s toe or you were off beat, you’d get shivved or shoved in the hole.

    Quilly already brought up up the reasons why this is a good idea plus there;s a certain pride in accomplishment too. I’ve never seen this before.

    I WAS quite scared at first. But it is pretty cool.

    I saw this on youtube the first time around MJ’s death. This was fun to watch again. Similarly with the other, I thought what’s a girl doing there?… lol!
