Microfiction Monday #43

Susan at Stony River Farm hosts Microfiction Monday. She posts a picture and you compose a story in 140 characters. You can click on the photo or link above to get further instructions. To help you along she has posted a wonderful link that counts your characters for you! How great is that! You can get the counter at Design 215. This meme is easy and it’s a blast. Mahalo Susan for hosting. This is great fun and I encourage everyone to participate.

Flash back. Tears. Smoke. Fire. Death. Panic. Terrorism. Al-Qaeda.
“…it’s up to you, New York, New York.”
Hey, it’s only my opinion.
A Hui Hou

Whoa, Thom, beautifully done! And amen to being non-forgetful about it too.
I did notice that the postcard is so old it doesn’t feature the WTC at all. I like what you did with that.
Thanks. I almost didn’t go that route because it wasn’t on the post card. But thought what the hell. It’s NYC that is prominent so I just went with it
Thom, I’m a little nervous — I went WTC too…and not funny, for a change.
What makes me nervous is the possibility that you and I might be having a meeting of the minds!
Funny story — my dad is here visiting from TX and he reads my blog and asked, “just who is this T-H-O-M guy?” (spelling it). I just laughed.
Indeed it isn’t. I just got done reading yours and I thought hmmm boy were we on the same wavelength this week. Did you just say some fool in Hawai’i? LOL
And a very nice opinion it is! Hope you have a great week.
Thank you very much. You do the same
Heavy duty microfiction, eh? Hey, there’s room for that, too!
SF~~~~~*
Yup…indeed there is
Thom…
We will Never Forget!!!
Great Job…
Indeed. Thanks.
I did a take on song lyrics for this one, but nothing as poignant as this. A well-handled microfiction about a truly awful day in American history. We will never forget.
Thank you my friend. I’m glad you enjoyed.
It was indeed a horrible day
Hard hitting this week. We remember this side of the Pond, too.
Thanks my friend. I think everyone will never forget that day
Still remember where I was when I saw the first TV footage. Gone for SF adventure today. My 140 is here
Indeed I still remember that happening as well and all the TV coverage
A reminder to us all – thankyou Thom, well done.
Mahalo my friend. I’m glad you enjoyed
Very well done!
Thank you Nessa
Great slant, Thom! I’ll never forget watching on television as the whole horror unfolded – disbelief giving way to shock.
You describe this so well as many watched this unfold. Thanks my friend
Hmmm. Too bad so many of us cannot think of NYC without remembering that horrible event!
Isn’t that the truth!
Well done Thom!
Mahalo my friend
Thanks, Thom, for this post. I hope we Americans and all freedom-loving people will not forget what Al Qaeda did to us on September 11, 2001.
Glad you enjoyed and I hope we never forget what those bastards did.
Well, said. And from the opposite side of the country, none the less.
Thank you my friend. Indeed it was
yes, I still remember the day, 911,..
remarkable micro fiction.
Thank you very much
yep. and timely in face of the recent controversy (or so i read)
And you read correctly my friend
very tragic time for the world.

Indeed
I don’t think we should forget. I think we should remember the victims. I think we should remember the heroes that stepped forward to risk and lose their own lives helping others. I think we should remember the way the American people came together. I think we should rejoice in our nations indomitable spirit. I think we should all work very hard to make certain that nothing like this ever happens again ANYWHERE in the world.
I think you are totally right with this awesome comment.
Well done. Still gives chills to me. Happy to meet you through Microfiction Monday.
Thanks. Pleased to meet you as well
Wow! That hit quite a few notes.
Yup I think it did. Thanks.
Chills down my spine!! Thanks so much…wonderful work:)
Mahalo Sweetie. MWAH xoxo. Love the Gravatar
Unforgettable event. I hope nothing like this will ever happen again anywhere as Quilly said.
Me too my friend
Nicely Done Thom, sorry to be late in visiting.
Thanks glad you enjoyed
Wow, Thom, that was potent. Very well done. Love Quilly’s comment, too.
Thanks…I was hoping so. Yeah it’s a good one
A sensitive, refreshing response to a piece of history that simply should not be!
You are so right. And thank you.
