microfictionmonday

Susan at Stony River Farm hosts Microfiction Monday. She posts a picture and you compose a story in 140 characters. You can click on the photo or link above to get further instructions. To help you along she has posted a wonderful link that counts your characters for you! How great is that! You can get the counter at Design 215. This meme is easy and it’s a blast. Mahalo Susan for hosting. This is great fun and I encourage everyone to participate.

The Picture

TWO OLD BIDDIES

If this is how Betty and Sara got their start I don’t know why their arms didn’t fall off. Those two old biddies should use Ziploc. Damn!

Have a canning Microfiction Monday.

Hey, it’s only my opinion.

  1. Nobody can microfiction quite the way that you do! LOL!

  2. Nice one :-)
I remember being told that things could fall off if you eat too much.

  3. You ROCK it!
    LOL…

  4. Oh you always get the best out of these pictures Thom! :)

  5. …or perhaps built their strength for the long haul.

  6. I propose a debate on the virtues of canned vs. frozen food.

  7. What would we do without ziploc bags?!

Canning was also weight training for women before the 1950s.

  8. LOL! That looks like me…I’m always trying to carry too much to save myself a trip!

  9. I always wait to read your MF, it’s just not Monday without it.
    Again a hilarious MF.my friend.
    Thanks Thommy!

  10. Do you mean Sara Lee and Betty Crocker?

  11. HAHAH! You got that right! This picture reminds me of that Rachel Ray woman and how she carries a million things at a time…

  12. Well, you’ve done it again! Always start my Monday with a great laugh! Old Biddies is right!! Have a great week, my friend!

  13. Maybe all of that heavy lifting kept them healthy enough to turn into old biddies! LOL!!

  14. i groaned but i could bet the names have some meaning – not to me , though. an i’m too busy (lazy?) to google. this french is killing my brain and bowling (slightly different – more intense – from what you know) my legs. pft

  15. It sounds as if Someone might be a bit jealous. Well I guess her name isn’t Julia or Wolfgang. Nice one Thom.

  16. If only our grandmothers had had the ziploc option. :)

Besides, you know they liked to use stuff more than once…and thus the glass canning jar was born. ;)

  17. I would probably drop a jar if I had them in my arms. You are right, they are heavy.
    I did one today too.

  18. You nailed it Thom. Great job! It looks like her eyes are bout to pop out of her head too. I guess that’s another micro story. :)

  19. They’d need strong arms not to drop them. Glass in preserves is NOT a good idea ;-)

  20. awesome advice there,
I feel tired and waited until now to visit other participants.
thank you for the incredible patience.

  21. Good one! Bet those girls would have loved Ziploc. Makes you wonder why they call it “the good old days”.

I’ve had some blog woes and am a day late. Far more than a dollar short. But that story won’t fit into microfiction!
