January Photo Challenge – Go Black and White #2
Nicole at NicoleB Photography has presented January Photo challenge – Go black and white. Thanks Nicole for doing the challenge. The rules are simple:
“My challenge to my fellow Photogeeks out there is to gather information about b&w photography and share what you found with the Rest of us. Including your new photos.”
I have learned in this go round that Picasa lets you sharpen the pictures. These are from Saturday’s Duck Tour. The first one is inside the Arizona Memorial. The next two are from inside the Bowfin. It’s a menu and pictures they have hanging up there. The last two are something I thought I would try. They have these telescopes and a periscope there. I put my camera up to the lens and snapped away. I must say that the black and whites look much sharper and give me a more real feel of The Arizona Memorial and the Mighty Mo. And to me, they do look sharper. I also really like the cross hairs showing. I hope you enjoy these.
- Arizona Memorial (2) – Color
- Bowfin Menu – Color

Hey, it’s only my opinion.

L?VE the memorial through the periscope and the crosshairs…
Thom, they’re all great.
Thank you my friend. I like them as well
…well the question mark is the character map image of a heart. Hmmmm.
I thought so
I usually prefer color, but I never thought of B&W making things look sharper — but I guess it does!
What I like my friend is that the Black and Whites make me think of what really happened. For some reason it makes it more real to me
Pretty cool there Thom the b&w thru the periscope looks like an old movie, great work for the b&W challenge!
It does feel like that. Glad you brought that up. Glad you enjoyed
Nice!
The Arizona memorial picture is much nicer in B/W I think, because in the colour version the bright shirts of people draw the eye too quickly. The attention *should* be on the long list of names first, then on the people paying their respects second — and that’s what happens in the b/w photo.
IMHO anyhow LOL.
I think your humble opinion is right on the mark. Glad you liked.
methinks the B&W photos work better in this case
nicely done, my friend
Thank you. I think they do as well
Oh yeah, I enjoyed them. The Arizona Memorial and Mighty Mo in periscope, both color and b&w, are my faves. They’re all wonderful to look at.
The Mighty Mo is just awesome to visit. I loved it when I did it years ago.
Thanks my friend
She’s one sexy lady! I love her photo in B/W.
Totally agree my friend.
Glad you enjoyed.
Well done!
I especially love the last two.
They look like real old time shots!
Thanks!!! I really think the black and white makes it look like old time…more real to me
