January’s Photo Contest: The New Year

written by Thom - January 22nd, 2010 at 10:02 pm

Kailani at An Island Life is hosting a monthly photo contest. Mahalo Kailani for this contest. I look forward to it each month. :) Direct from her blog comes the following:

“Beginning this month, An Island Life will be hosting a monthly photo contest with each month having a specific theme. For January, it will be The New Year.

Here’s how it works:

* From now until January 23rd, post a photo on your blog in regards to what the “New Year” means to you. Don’t forget to include a link back here so others can join in on the fun, too.
* It doesn’t have to be a recent picture but it does have to be one taken by you.
* Then come back and leave your link to your entry in the Mr. Linky below.
* The voting will begin on Jan 24th and run till Jan 27th. Get all your friends to vote for you!
* The photo with the most votes will be announced on Jan 29th.
* That’s it!

The winner will receive:

* $20 to Amazon.com, Starbucks, or via PayPal
* An award button
* Their entry posted at An Island Life with a link back to your site

So start thinking about what The New Year means to you and capture it on film! Your entry could win you a great prize! Good luck!

Coming up: February’s Photo Contest: Love Is . . .”

The New Year to me means getting family and friends all together at your house early on New Years Eve, making LauLau‘s from scratch all day and steaming them into the night, along with Chicken Long Rice and other Hawaiian food and celebrating at midnight good health, happiness and love throughout the New Year. Here’s my entry for the contest.

Please click on the photos to enlarge. Mahalo.

I will be reminding you all to vote from January 24 til January 27th.

Hey, it’s only my opinion.

  7. For me the New Year means new beginnings. I wish I had known about this sooner, I’d have gone down to the point and photographed sunrise.

  8. Laulaus? OK, I’m probably the only one who doesn’t know what this is! But it looks like fun and you do have a lovely yard and I do know that it’s a lot of work!! Have a great weekend, Thom!
