Fun Monday – Shoes

Your’s truly is hosting this week. And it’s all about Shoes I despise having to wear shoes. But there are some places that we just have to and I don’t have a choice. So here is my entry.
The first picture is of my work shoes. They are from Sears, size 10 1/2 and as wide as they can be. They are old and I have gotten this specific shoe ever since I can remember. They are very comfortable. And before anyone comments that’s my work belt. I just kept it in there for good measure!

This picture, yes with my stinky ass socks, are my walking shoes that I use every day when I walk Nalu. I just got them, size 11 and again as wide as they can be. No shoelaces is what I like. I get a new pair of socks every week as I’m not going to put them in the dirty clothes just for 45 minutes a day of use. Besides it’s my stink and I just figure I’m saving water and soap by not having so many pairs of socks to wash.

And these are without a doubt my favorite. You will see most people here in Hawai’i with these on. My Slippers (what people outside of Hawai’i call Flip-Flops or Thongs or Rubber shoes). If you ever come to Hawai’i you’ve been given the heads up as to what to call them
They are size 13. I don’t know what’s up with slippers but you always have to buy bigger than you would with your own regular shoes. I’ve also included a shot of our entry to our house showing where we keep all our slippers. Another heads up you will have is that when you enter someone’s house you go in without any type of shoe on. It’s just custom over here.

If you are participating, please sign Mr. Linky below so that everyone can visit and see your Shoes.
So there you have it. I hope you have enjoyed. Our host for May 24th will be Deb at Deb’s Dainty Needle Art. Thanks for hosting Deb! Have a wonderful Monday
Hey, it’s only my opinion.
A Hui Hou

Thanks for hosting.
Great shoes. I do have flip flops I wear most of the time around the house. I can’t stand to be bare foot.
Thanks and you are welcome. I’m not one for bare feet either.
I’m half japanese – so the concept of not wearing shoes in the house is I think genetically ingrained in me ( As proof of the genetic thing, I have 2 friends, one is 1/2 Korean, the other full Korean, they were both adopted as infants. their parents both wear shoes in the house. They don’t) My shoes come off – and as it rains and snows in NJ, they kinda start lining the stairs coming into the house until there aren’t any more steps, then they go in the appropriate closet, and we start over again.
I wear sketchers sneakers to work. They are the most comfortable – on my feet legs and back, walking all day on the concrete floors.
I have flip flops in every color I wear, so my flip flops match my tops. That I wear almost everywhere, even church.
I have a couple pairs of crocs I wear in the rain – one pair is fleece lined for when it snows. And I have a pair of timberland off road sandals.
( I also have a closet full of stilettos, wedge heels, and boots that I only wear when I get dressed up – so like maybe 5 or 6 times a year)
Wow they match your tops? I have one black pair. LOL. I think your proof is perfect. Makes total sense to me. You could start your own shoe store.
Flip flops seem to be the necessity shoe of choice these days for most people. They are versatile, comfy and easy to slip on. I will put my post up as soon as I can tomorrow. It may be later in the day.
I think you are right. See ya when you get posted.
I’m of the same attitude about shoes as you, Thom! If I didn’t have to wear them, I wouldn’t – and I don’t much of the time.
Cool I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels this way.
Thank you so much Thom for hosting Fun Monday…
Japanese Slippers ROCK…but Mr. Shakira bought me some that has a soft “heart”..so that it would hurt my soft skins when I wear them…
We do it like you guys too…no shoes in the house….way to go…
Happy Monday!
hugs
shakira
Aww that was sweet of him. It’s a good way to be with shoes not in the house.
Oh dear…I am so sorry, I cannot play..
I do not have shoes to show you guys…LOL
I put up my name for Linky already…so sorry…I won’t be able to play….
Lol. You don’t have to show punctures. I’ll take it down then if you want.
We both have the same shoe “philosophy” except that wearing flip flops besides at the beach would be impossible here. Sandals yes, flip flops no. Nobody does. I mostly wear sneakers. My rule is comfort first ! Anyway in the past men looked at my legs and not at my shoes, lol !
LOL Look at your legs. Too funny but most likely well worth the look. LOL
Thom! All black??? Are you Australian??? Sheeesh! LOL! I’m like Ria – I like a pair of “slippers” in EVERY color to go with my outfits! It’s the ONLY style Feet succomb to!
LOL…Yup…it’s a great color cuz I don’t have to think to match it with clothes my darlin’ LOL
You have way more shoes than I do, but they all look super comfortable, my main requirement.
LOL…A grand total of 3 pairs is what I have. LOL
Not a whole lot but it does well for me
Great shoes Thom! Comfy is what’s important. I’ve got lots of shoes that are old too.
Thanks…they sere their purpose
in this f**ing land of permanent winter or rain my feet would freeze in flip flops
no shoes inside the flat here either – slippers instead
Oh you and that damn weather.
LOL
Well, I could have done without the knowledge of the stinky socks, but the pic of the flips (pardon me, SLIPPERS) by the door is classic!
LOL. Thanks. What’s a little picture without stink. LOL
Cool shoes. But why are they all black? I just took pics of my shoes and am off to put my post up…a bit late
Cuz then I don’t have to worry about the color. LOL
