Friday’s Fave Five – #46
Today is Friday’s Fave Five. It is hosted by Suzanne at Living To Tell The Story. If you click on the picture above you can get the instructions for FFF. Suzanne is a great hostess and I send her many thanks for hosting.
So here is this weeks FFF:
1. My niece and nephew came over on Saturday. They were staying with their dad, who lives right up the lane from me, and decided to surprise me. I always love having them around. Of course, there was an ulterior motive. Breakfast at McDonalds. So off we go. Was a good time there and I so enjoyed their visit.
2. At work, we signed up for our runs for our next sign up. It begins August 23rd and runs until December 6th. I changed my day off to Saturday/Sunday. Football season is coming upon us. I stayed on the No. 8, Waikiki to Ala Moana Center. Hours are 1230 to 2130. So not much change there.
3. On So You Think You Can Dance my girl, Janette Manrara got voted off. It was a total shock to me as I thought she is one of the best. Jason Glover also got voted off on the boys side. They both were very good I thought but it’s America’s call. I wish them both the best. The show celebrated it’s 100th episode. Was real good. But I’m bummed because of Janette. I must say, Nigel made it a tad bit easier when he said that he thought America got it wrong. I think so as well. But she will do well. I know it. You can see Trav’s results Encores and results HERE. He does a great job as usual. On America’s Got Talent the auditions are finally over. Thank goodness. Now we get down to the nitty gritty. A little girl named Ciana, from Honolulu made it to Las Vegas. She real good. I wish her well.
4. I had lunch with Quilly at California Pizza Kitchen today. We both had salads and we split them. Quilly had a Chinese Chicken Salad and I had a Moroccan Salad. We both thought it was the better of the two. We talked and had a real good time. We talked about her writing the novel and what a lot of work it is. Talked about her hours being cut at her job. Then we went to AT&T as I had to move my hanai brother’s phone over from Sprint. It was a real good time. Quilly is the bomb and I’m very lucky to have her has my friend. Well we all do, but I get the benefit of seeing her any time I want … well not anytime but…well you get the picture.
Then later in the evening I went to Kona Brewing Co. for dinner with Lisa, her mom, and her brother and sister in law and their kids visiting from Taiwan. We had pizza and it was excellent. Needless to say, I had a lot of food today. Gonna have to walk Nalu longer in the morning.
5. As you know I had a birthday this week. Again thank you to everyone that left me a wonderful comment and mentioned me on your blog or sent an e-card. It was greatly appreciated. Well I’m sitting at my computer in the morning, and I here my neighbor Dee say “Thom, meet me outside and then a rendition of “Happy Birthday” starts to be sung. I go outside and Dee and Kai and Kia, her twin daughters are there with a birthday card and breakfast. They had decorated the container for my birthday and the card was fantastic. Dee, Kai and Kia, thank you so much. Love you all.
Hey, it’s only my opinion.
A Hui Hou

You certainly didn’t die of hunger this week, lol !
Indeed I didn’t LOL
You can get Portuguese sausage at McDonalds? We just have regular old sausage at our McDonalds! Those salads look really good.
Thanks for stopping by. Appreciate it. And yes and you can get spam here
Aloha
The kids are adorable! Great shots…
Thank you my friend.
I love breakfast at McDonald’s too and for this week, gosh, I’ve been there almost everyday. LOL
So enjoyed this post…all fun! Happy Friday!
LOL…I love McDonalds. Have a great day as well. Aloha
Your niece and nephew are wonderful looking kids…God Bless….and also Happy belated Happy Birthday.
Thank you my friend. I appreciate it. And thanks for the comment on the kids
Aloha
What a great week! I loved all the photos.
I like your work schedule; I used to work 2 to 10 at the library and loved it. I could take my time getting up and ready, and there was still time to do a little something afterward if I wanted. Of course, I was younger… now I’d probably want to be home by seven. ROFL
LOL…that’s the thing, I’m not a night person, but the hours are okay. Thanks for the comment. Have a great Weekend
Aloha
What fun that you can spoil those kids like that! Hey this is my kind of fave five with so much good food in it! I’m glad you got lots of celebrating in. Happy Belated birthday and here’s to many many more. I’m glad you go your “football schedule”!
LOL…I tend to spoil them to much. Thanks for the birthday wish. I appreciate it. I’m glad for footballs sake as well. Aloha
Wow, your McDonald’s serves some different things than ours! How fun to have nieces and nephews close enough to visit.
I was shocked about Jeanette as well. I thought she was going to win the whole thing, she or Brandon. Evan has been my favorite since Day 1, but Brandon and Jeanette have been the best dancers. I’m glad AGT’s auditions are over, too, and we can move on. Was amazed at that little girl’s voice!
What a fun birthday surprise! Glad it was a good day for you.
They also serve spam and pineapple. Go figure. LOL. Yeah, I suppose someone had to go but I sure didn’t want it to be her. And it was her first time in the bottom. I just don’t get it. America so voted wrong
Aloha
it’s always fun at McDonald’s… your nephew and niece look so contented with their meals. sounds like you really had a great week there. belated happy birthday again, Thom.
Thank you very much. Yeah, I’m stuffed LOL
Sounds like another good week for you, Thom. I’m glad I’m not the only one who posted about food!
Anyway, belated happy birthday. I missed it but I wish for you that the upcoming year will be the best one you’ve ever had.
Thank you my friend. Much appreciated. Yeah, this was a real food week LOL
Have a great weekend.
I’m so happy to hear about your great birthday week! What could be better than a week filled with birthday wishes, surprise vists, lunch with friends, and lots of good food?
So true my friend. Hope you have a great weekend
Aloha
All in all, a wonderful week again!
I see a lot of smiling faces and a lot of delicious food. Can’t beat that!
Isn’t that the truth. Yeah, it was a great week.
Hope your Friday was good to you my Belgian Bombshell
Aloha
I had a crazy week and haven’t been around to blogs so I totally missed your birthday. A very Happy Belated Birthday to you, Thom and many blessings for the year!
I was totally bummed with the results from SYTYCD. I thought for sure it would be Janette and Brandon as the final two. I just don’t get Melissa at all. Lovely dancer but I just don’t connect with her. I thought their Chacha was boring city and slow for what a chacha is supposed to be. The judges trashed Ade for it and raved on Melissa but I thought she was very slow on her movements and totally boring in that dance.
Thank you very much. I appreciate it. I also don’t get the bruhaha over Kayla or Evan either. But oh well. Have a great Friday
I love eating breakfast at McDonalds occasionaly too. It sounds like you have a lot of caring people in your life, now wonderful.
Thank you my friend. I could eat there all the time LOL Have a great Friday
Well, Thom, I missed your birthday. So Sorry! And Happy Belated Birthday!
Yes, I’ll be happy to deep clean your kitchen. All you’ll need to do is pay for two roundtrip tickets LAX-Honolulu. What could be easier?
Have a good weekend!
ROFLMAO…Okay. Thanks very much. I appreciate it
Aloha
Oh, those are fun times

!
I sometimes do miss good Restaurants to just hop to, or even hop to McD for breakfast.
Oh well, can’t have it all
You need to take some pics one of these days from your beach walks
Yes I will have to post some of those. Sometimes I think I have too much of it
LOL
Thom what’s this and your #8, you got a Bus Wench we don’t know about
Nice to have family close by, you are such a wonderful Uncle to your Niece and Nephew.
Glad you are there for Our Quilly, you are such a Good Friend.
Enjoy your Weekends Off, it will be years before I am looking at Straight Day Shifts with Weekends off. (though my Scots Nature likes the Sunday Premium to work)
“Have Bus Wench Will Travel”
Nope No Bus Wench…I just stay on the route. Sure is nice to have family and friend. Thanks for the great comment. We don’t have a Sunday Premium. It’s just another day LOL
I hate that photo. Hate.
I loved lunch though and I think you’re wonderful. I had a great time. Thanks for the treat.
You are most welcome and I love that photo. Don’t make fun of my point and shoot LOL Poor little camera
Make fun of your camera? It isn’t your camera I have trouble with, it is my fat! Now I feel so bad I’m going to have to go eat a bowl of ice cream – -with hot fudge and walnuts — and maybe a little whipped cream. I wonder if we have any maraschino cherries in the house ……
Pffft…I love you for who you are…and that’s you. So eat up and save me a bowl…LOL
Quilly It was a really nice shot of you don’t hate it!
Thank you. I agree
Loved the pictures! Sounds like a great time. LOL Quilly! Your salads look so yummy. I could go for a salad for supper. The boys are gone for the weekend and it’s just me and Brittany. Hmmmm maybe I will have to through together a salad. Can’t get any good salads here in this small town.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Yeah, the lunch was awesome. WE had a good time. Hope you get to enjoy one. Have a great weekend. Aloha
The birthday shot was seriously cute! California Pizza Kitchen…. Love it the one with chicken, BBQ and red onion… to die for!
It was my friend. We both loved that. Glad you liked the picutre
Woo Hoo
Ok…I just want you to know that even though I just finished eating my dinner about an hour ago…after looking at these photos of FOOD…I’m hungry again!!
HA!
I love breakfast at Mc Donalds! I actually love breakfast, period. It’s my favorite meal of the day.
And how nice that your friend surprised you on your birthday!!! You are loved, my friend…and that’s a wonderful thing!
What are you a bottomless pit? LOL. I love McDonalds but my favorite is Jack In The Box. Have a great weekend
sorry Thom I missed your birthday so sorry. Happy Belated birthday its not just for family anymore LOL anyways sorry about that but loved the pictures I always love to see pictures of those that mean alot to you
No worries. Thanks for the great comment
Aloha
I didn’t know you could get rice at McD’s in Hawaii.
That you can. Spam and pineapple as well
Hi Thom,
Looks like you had a great week as usual. I love that you hand with your niece and nephew often. That’s great.
I was shocked too with Janette going home but they are all such great dancers. I loved Ade & Melissa’s Breast Cancer piece – so moving.
Great week again and thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the comment. I really appreciate it. I did have a good week. They are all good but I wanted her to win it all. I don’t see anything in Melissa. Ade either. But they are all
good
sorry that was suppose to be “hangout” with your niece and nephew.
It’s nearly midnight here – I better get to bed.
I figured as much. LOL
