What Kind of Fabric Are You? and Brain Stuff

written by Thom - January 22nd, 2010 at 12:01 am

Well it’s Friday. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. The quiz is broken is all I’m saying:

You Are Cotton

You are conscientious, thoughtful, and compassionate. You care deeply about the world.
It’s likely that you like cotton because it’s natural and environmentally friendly.

You examine your actions and decisions carefully. You never forget that you affect others with the things you do.
You probably live a fairly back-to-the earth, green lifestyle. It’s organic cotton all the way for you!

BRAIN STUFF

Pretty Cool. I don’t know how it’s done

Read out loud the text inside the triangle below.

More than likely you said, ‘A bird in the bush,’! And. …….
If this IS what YOU said, then you failed to see
That the word THE is repeated twice!
Sorry, look again.

Next, let’s play with some words.
What do you see?

In black you can read the word GOOD, in white the word? (inside each black letter is a white letter). Now, what do you see? EVIL

You may not see it at first, but the white spaces read the word optical, the blue landscape reads the word illusion. Look again! Can you see why this painting is called an optical illusion?

What do you see here?

This one is quite tricky!
The word TEACH reflects as LEARN.

Last one.
What do you see?

You probably read the word ME in brown, but…….
When you look through ME you will see YOU!

Do you need to look again? Test Your Brain
This is really cool.

ALZHEIMERS’ EYE TEST

Count every ‘ F ‘ in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS…

(SEE BELOW)

HOW MANY ?
WRONG, THERE ARE 6 — no joke.
READ IT AGAIN !
Really, go Back and Try to find the 6 F’s before you scroll down.

The reasoning behind is further down.
The brain cannot process ‘OF’.

Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!
Anyone who counts all 6 ‘F’s’ on the first go is a genius.

Three is normal, four is quite rare.

Olny srmat poelpe can raed this.
I cdnuolt blveiee that I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd what I was rdanieg. The ph ao nmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, ao ccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in what oredr the ltteers in a word are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is that the first and last ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a t ao tl mses and you can still raed it wouthit a porbelm. This is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the word as a wlohe. Amzanig huh? Hey, it’s only my opinion.

  1. I am silk, and it says I am high maintenance which is exactly how I describe myself – emotionally, not materially.

I counted only 2 Fs hohoho I’m subnormal lol! For some reason I read COOL in the white of GOOD. This is very interesting stuff, Thom. Thanks for sharing. Cj enjoyed the music too.

  2. How in the world did I come up SILK when every answer I put in was about comfort!??? I expected “denim”… or “fleece”… but SATIN? I hate satin! LOL!

    You Are Silk
You are cultured, sophisticated, and a little bit picky. You go for the best in life.
You like your clothes to be top notch, even if it means paying more or buying less items overall.

You tend to be particular and even somewhat high maintenance. You can’t stand being uncomfortable in any way.
On the flip side, little pleasures can really make your day. Like the feel of silk on your skin!

That top one is cool! It took somebody a LONG time to create that! I do know how it’s done… I’ve made animated gifs before… but they are a lot of work!

I did indeed miss the 2nd THE on the first go round – but I caught it before I read your hint.

I saw good first – and then evil – before I read.

I saw illusion first and then optical – again before I read.

I did not SEE Learn until you pointed it out.

Okay… At first I saw OVARIES on the Me/You – but then I saw Me & You before I read anything.

I have NO idea what I’m supposed to see in that brain… but I definitely DID count 6 F’s the FIRST time through… so apparently MY brain does process OF. However… I did not READ the words… I just counted the letters!

And I read the last one with just 2 areas that I stumbled for a second.

I MUST be a bloomin’ genius! :) (rriiiiight!)

    • ROLFMAO!!! I could have told you that you were a genius my dralin’ LOL. I loved your comment :) LOL But how you got ovaries is beyond me LOL :)

  3. I meant SILK! But I hate silk AND satin!

  4. Supposedly, I am also COTTON. I did miss the second THE. I immediately saw all of the words except EVIL. I found 5 of the 6 F’s. The last OF tricked me, but I was reading slow enough to catch the first two. And since I am a certified reading teacher that last paragraph didn’t surprise me and I could have given you the explanation, you didn’t need to provide it for me. ;)

    • LOL…yes but I did have to provide it for myself. I need to see things like that in writing LOL. Well done. And cotton…pffft…don’t ya despise these quizzes sometimes ?

      • Frankly, Thom, yes. I despise these quizzes. Are you sure your fabric isn’t burlap? You’re equally as irritating to be around. LOL, ROFLMAO, WTF, WTG, w00t and all that bloody, good rot :-)

        • Well Karen I’m glad I’m irritating to you. I will try hard to irritate you daily. Funny I don’t recall you ever taking one of the quizzes…to each his/her own as they say. It is a shame you don’t leave a site so I can leave an equally thrilling comment as this on your blog.

          • Thom, as you are well aware, you’ve been doing so for weeks. I don’t even know you, or know why you feel compelled to irritate me in the first place.
But now that I know you find my comments so thrilling, I’ll return more often. Probably not every day, so don’t set your hopes too high.

            • I don’t know you from Adam or should I save Eve as well and I feel compelled to do so because you left this statement in your comment:

“You’re equally as irritating to be around.”

Now yes I know I’m irritating but for you to come to my blog and leave that statement when I don’t even know you is well…your right. So if you say I’m irritating you that is indeed my new goal and I will be thrilled to continue doing so when you do comment here.

              Get my drift?

  5. I got Wool:

“You are down to earth, practical, and no nonsense. You need a fabric that’s durable and hearty.
You don’t mind if wool is itchy… at least it keeps you warm! And you’re responsible enough to take care of wool properly.

You aren’t superficial or frivolous. You value substance over style and function over form.
You are humble and thoughtful. You are happy with who you are, and you don’t like vanity get the best of you. ”

I don’t like itchy wool!! And I don’t like special-care clothes, though I do have a few of them. I think Melli’s description of silk fits me better though I don’t care for silk itself.

That juggling gif is pretty cute, and I like the optical illusions. I only for two Fs the first time through, even though I was looking for them!

    • Funny how those f’s just throw people for a loop. I missed both of the one’s in f. I don’t care for wool either. As you say to itchy. :)

  6. Well, of course, I’m cotton! No surprise there! Love all the brain stuff, did pretty well for an old broad, if I do say so! Hope you have a great weekend, Thom! Enjoy!

    Sylvia

  7. wlel, ctootn wrkeos for me – mroe or lses

no porlbmes wtih any of the tsets but i rmebmeer fnidnig 5 fs in taht tset wehn i frist raed it

enjoy your vacation (i’m sure you will) :)

  8. OK-first off please take the happy birthday song off as it is very annoying and distracting. What are you trying to do? Torture us? ;) There is nothing wrong with being cotton(sorry Thom, the truth needs to come out at some point) Though for me it is incorrect!I like the quizzes as they are most fun and challenging. I will look forward to more.

    • Crap I know I’ve been meaning to do that LOL. As soon as I’m done commenting here I’ll do it :) Well I don’t much care for cotton myself but even more so what it says about me LOL. Glad you enjoy the quizzes … they will continue :)

  9. I are cotton also. I enjoyed reading these Brain Stuff things. I seen them a long time ago, but I did get caught with the Bird/Hand/Bush, didn’t see the second the.

  10. I am cotton too! That was fun!
I loved your brain teasers. I for some odd reason do well on these, a genius I am not but they are fun just like your blog!
Thanks Thom, have a great weekend in warm Hawaii!

  11. I am Cotton too! You made my brain work. LOL I didn’t see the second the. I had to go back and look but I got the rest.

  12. Dude, if I wanted brain stuff I’d have gone to Susan’s site. Just kidding, that was fun, and it is interesting that I missed all the “f”s that were part of “of.” Wonder what’s wrong with me.

  13. Can you believe we dragons are polyester. How dumb is that.
WE did well with the eye stuff we have good eyes.

  14. Cool stuff! I love the word art! I love puzzles and things, so I *did* get all 6 Fs, and caught the second THE, etc. but it was fun.

I tried to come by earlier but your blog wouldn’t come up for me no matter what–others did, so I don’t know what was going on, but seems to be working so far…

    • Well this time I’m going to blame it on your connection. I haven’t touched anything on this for weeks now LOL. I knew you would get all of this…You are just too smart, as in ass ROFLMAO!! OMG I kill myself sometimes :)

  15. You Are Silk

What Kind of Fabric Are You?
Blogthings: A Fine Line Between Insight and Stupidity

I’m silk!! I’ve already seen those brain things! Have a great weekend!

  16. I’m cotton.
She says as she’s singing…’the touch, the feel of cotton…the fabric of our lives’ :)
And, my brain has been stimulated!
I’m no genius but I did get pretty much all of these. As a past teacher these kinds of activities help keep 5th graders minds on something when there’s a little spare time and you don’t want to leave them to their own defenses. Since I’ve used this sort of thing I’ve trained myself to look for the ‘catch’.
I’ve seen the last paragraph before and I think it is truly awesome. Juliana’s comment
    was very clever.
    Fun post Thom!

  17. Awesome, awesome awesome! The The….duh! And I got 5 F’s, lol. Missed the last OF for God’s sake!

  18. I no longer like the word OF.

    Bwahahaha

    Good stuff my friend.

  19. I am cotton too ! lol !
Melli’s result is exactly the opposite of what she is, hahaha ! I wonder how she came out with this !

  20. Funny lots of the picture/sight games my Psych professors used to use with us to teach us about perception. lots of fun Thom! Yeah you’ll be on the West Coast too!

  21. Those optical illusions are super neat!!! I am off to take the fabric quiz now but I’m not posting the results for 42 minutes lol
