May’s Theme: Mother’s Day”
Easter, as with most holidays in my opinion, mean kids. The night before Easter, we would get all the kids, cousins and friends included, and over to the house they would come. Most of the parents just stayed outside drinking and pupuing and Uncle Thom and a few other Aunty’s would help get the kids organized and we would have them dye eggs. And let me tell you it was an experience I will cherish for a lifetime. We separated the young kids on a smaller table and all the older kids on the kitchen table and off they would go. It was really fun and the kids had a blast. Afterwards they would play and Uncle Thom and the Aunty’s would go join the other adults outside. Was good fun. The next day before any of the kids arrived for the Easter Egg Hunt I would hide all the eggs in the yard that they dyed the night before. We would also make prize eggs and hide them and made sure every one of the kids got one. So my entry for What Easter Means to Me is a picture, that this year will be 5 years old and it’s sort of grainy if you make it bigger, but oh well, of the kids dying eggs. I hope you enjoy.
Hey, it’s only my opinion.
A Hui Hou

Geez! How many dozens are those! How fun, getting your hands all stained!
Did you help hide the eggs?
I don’t exactly know but we would have like 200 eggs to hide to tell you the truth. And yes I would hide them all. It was good fun
WOW… I love eggs.. but 200 eggs, WOOT!
Myohmy!Must have been really fun for everyone!
hugs
shakira
Well when you have that many kids you gotta have plenty of eggs
200 eggs!?! Wow!! We only hunted about 2 dozen when I was a kid, and there were 4 of us.
I’m sorry to say that I didn’t even boil or color eggs this year. I think we had 3 dozen or more last year. Yes, I’m pathetic. Pffft.
LOL. Well if you look at how many kids there are you want each one to have plenty. Now the kids have grown so this year it was zero LOL
Whoa! That is some serious egg dying happening there. Look at all those eggs! Great choice Thom!
Yeah and we did it every year. It was good fun.
Mahalo my friend
Holy cow, that’s a lot of egg salad sandwiches ROFL. Maybe next year you can come spend Easter with us, and show us how it’s done?
LOL…sure and then maybe you can show how to make egg salad sandwiches. LOL
That’s a lot of eggs! I must not let my child see this picture.
LOL..Okay I’ll make sure not to email it to her as well ROFLMAO!!!
Wow! That is a lot of eggs! I was always really lucky if we each got to dye 2 or
3 eggs growing up. Looks like it’s quite the party for you! Good luck on the contest.
Thank you my friend. Yeah it was quite the party and the kids always had a good time
That is QUITE a crew of egg dyers ya got there! Looks MUCH like my house, many moons ago! Mind you, I only had 4 kids — but we used to dye about 8 dozen eggs! (and HUNT them all too!) Sheeeeesh!
Oh my darlin’ it’s not wonder we get along so well…sometimes ROFLMAO!!! Isn’t it fun to do things such as this? It’s all about the kids
What a great lot of eggs! I like how it is so organized and each child can do his or her own decorating.
It took some years to get it this organized. By the end it was a mess and well kids will be kids and that was the beauty of it
phew, 200 eggs! i like how absorbed in their work the children look in the photo
Indeed they were really into it. But after a while and doing so many eggs, by the end it was like pffft…who cares ROFLMAO!
Oh boy….what a crowd…what a bunch of eggs. And you’d go out and hide them? How awesome is that? I want an Uncle Thom!!! I loved the photo share…it looks like tons o’ fun.
Yup, it was a lot of this and a lot of that. And hiding them was part of the fun as well but watching them do their work, then finding them was the best part of all
Mahalo my friend
Wow. Look at all those kids. Was that just before the dying cups were thrown?
No that comes after LOL
Look at all them eggs. I bet the kids had a blast dying those eggs. Sounds like all of you had fun. What a great memory to have too.
We all did. It was a blast
200 eggs seem like HUGE fun. Have a wonderful holiday, my friend. xoxoxo
LOL…well when ya have that many kids you gotta do what ya gotta do
xoxox
wow,
what fun activity,
you are super patient!
Indeed it was. And thank you
Geez, Thom! I bet you’ve hidden enough eggs in your lifetime to qualify as an Easter bunny! Look at that table. I know those kids were having fun!
LOL…I could do the White House with ease LOL Yeah they were. It was a blast
Whoa! That’s a lot of eggs!
LOL Indeed
What a lovely memory of Easter. I love how orderly it looks. I think Easter is my favorite holiday.
Well let me tell you it doesn’t stay orderly very long. Glad you enjoyed.
Thats a very sweet post and its wonderful that you enjoy kids so much at Easter.
There are a lot of eggs there for the kids to color, how fun for them.
Thanks. They all had a good time
You captured a special moment in the lives of those children. I’m sure they will have fond memories of this. You got my vote!
Thank you my friend. So glad you liked it and yes I hope so. They all had fun and created a mess but that’s what it’s all about
That is so cool! I’m sure those kids will never forget the fun! Talk about great memories! Marvelous shot! Hope your day is going well, Thom.
sylvia
Well I hope not. We all did have a good time. You have a wonderful day as well
The group egg-dying must be fun (never experienced that, nor seen anyone in person dying an Easter egg. Easter in our part of the world is characterized by simulated crucifixions)with lots of room for bonding.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing that information
