An Update
Aloha. Yeah I’m still alive and well. I can only hope that all of you enduring Hurricane Irene are safe and following all instructions given. They are not fun to go through and if there is one thing I’ve learned it’s to pay attention, respect Mother Nature and don’t try to be a hero. Family and friends are to important. Just know my thoughts and aloha are with each and every one of you.
Things are busy here. As most of you know I have gone days and I don’t like it. That damn alarm going off in the morning…well it’s just not pleasant. But When 1 pm comes I think that wasn’t so bad. Myrna is doing very well. She’s finally gaining weight and eating more. But we have some sad news. My hanai brother Henry has prostate cancer and there is something going on with his walking. They did a bone scan and there is no cancer there so he is scheduled for and MRI Monday to see why he’s having such a hard time walking. My guess of course is something is wrong with one of his discs or spinal column. Who knows but we will get answers to that problem after the MRI. As far as the prostate he has decided to have surgery and have it removed. They will then find out how close the cancer cells are to the wall of the prostate to see if he will have to do radiation after the surgery. Apparently if the cancer cells in the prostate are close to the wall they could have gotten into his body and all tests so far can’t tell you that until the pathology report comes out. He is in good spirits as is the rest of the family. So now we have one more to take care of in the house but that’s what family is for.
On a happier note, and I say this lightly, I went into Costco yesterday and saw the following and couldn’t believe my eyes. It’s only August for crap’s sake. Of course I thought of our one and only Hootin’ Anni. Don’t ask me why.
I have gotten rid of my email address trhnlhi@tp4ww.com I was getting way to many spam emails and got sick of it. You can use either tr05prius@gmail.com or trhnlhi@me.com Either one will do.
So with all this being said I still am not going to be on a regular posting schedule. Things are a little hectic still with work and now with Henry…doesn’t leave a lot of time. I do twitter a great deal and Google+ and for those of you not there it’s great. You can see me there by clicking on the Badge in my sidebar. Facebook isn’t that important to me either so I’m not there much either. I guess what I’m saying is Google+ is the place to be.

So good to hear an update from you Thom. So sorry that you aren’t happy with your day shift but happy you enjoy 1 PM when it comes around. Glad Myrna is doing well. Have your brother Henry google Provenge and have him talk to his doctor about it. It’s a new treatment for Prostate Cancer that uses your own blood cells for treatment. This would be after the prostate is removed. My hubby’s company Dendreon came up with the treatment. FYI…the treatment is expensive…

{{{{THOM!!!!!}}} You don’t know the half of it…around C C Texas you’ve been thought about daily. I’ve been wondering how you’re doing with your new schedule. I’m so glad that you dropped by to let me know you’ve updated your blog. And the dedication?~!! Too funny…reason is, I am crocheting an afghan to send to Irene…for Halloweeen!! Been working on it for about a month now. Can’t be too early for Halloween y’know. :::snort::: Bud and I went to lunch at Cracker Barrel here in town and the whole mercantile section of the lobby to the eatery had Halloween stuff. I was in heaven. Ogling and ooooo-ing!! rofl
Now in all seriousness here, I’m happy to hear Myrna is gaining some weight and eating. That is promising!!! And the alarm clock…well, ever hear of an ax?!!! Oh, I know…this is supposed to be the serious section. Oops. And Henry…I will most certainly keep him in my thoughts and prayers. And I’m like ellen b –check out provenge. It’s supposed to be a scientific breakthrough from what I’ve read.
Okay…to keep this from turning into a novel, know you’re missed terribly and thought of constantly!! Sending warm loving hugs [smoke signals] to you dear one.

Great news about Myrna! Hope she keeps it up! Will keep Henry in my thoughts! He’s lucky he has people like you in his life!
As for the alarm clock- I’ve been getting up between 230 and 3 for 9 years now, I love it. On my days off I’m up by 430 or 5 – that can be annoying on vacations. But getting out early? Priceless!!

It’s good to hear an update on what’s going on in your life. Sorry that days aren’t working out as well with your body clock as you might have hoped. And yet you’re a morning person. Hope that the work itself is satisfying and fulfilling, and kudos to you for sticking with it. Glad about Myrna and sad about Henry. Cancer is never a happy diagnosis, but at least there are a growing number of treatment options for prostate. My step-dad went through it several years ago, which appears to be a complete success. I’m going to have a major update myself shortly … Probably within the next few days … Stay tuned.
