Congrats Wedding

I cannot believe that I kept my mouth shut. Can you believe it? A couple of weeks ago, I was in contact with Amanda at AGuthrieWords as she told me in confidence that she and Mark, her now husband, were going to get married today. WOOT!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

The conversation went something like this:

She: “Oh dam Thom you should see Layna’s little black dress I want to cry she looks so beautiful. If I have to do this again with Leighann (crabby but not all the time) my heart is going to split in two! So now I find out this little “wedding” in the woods during our camping/ radio group field day is a big deal Mark has a photographer coming and I have to go find a bloody dress (scuz the potty mouth) to match his shirt no less, but a month ago all I got is “I don’t knows”. So I am taking his freakin tie to match up a dress today AUGH! So are you feeling better? (I am changing the subject so I don’t stew over things). Did you work this weekend or take a few more days off? Before we leave for the trip I’ll email you the dopey details so you can post the info on the 28th, it just seems weird because we decided to get married uh 10 yrs ago and still have not done anything so this all-of-a-sudden stuff is off the hook! Thanks for absolutely everything Thom you really are awesome ya know! Amanda”

He: “You are such a mother LOL I can’t wait to see the pictures myself. Proud mama…gonna be great. I can’t wait to see Leighann with you on her big day also. Feeling old are we? hmmm LOL As for the upcoming nuptials…you know this email is fair game in the post LOL I just love how this is playing out. 10 years in the making…and damn you…better have good pictures taken. You my friend have become a very good friend indeed. It’s funny to me, how we blog and you get friends, but there are some that you really become friends with. Hit it off and it’s like you’ve been there all your life. I have several of you like that and I’m very grateful. And we have just begun :) Aloha”

She: “I agree Thom good friends are not always found around the corner and good friendships are worth the maintenance, and long distance friendships take just that. Yeah I guess Mark’s friend from up North is coming to take photos that is when I realized this was getting big sniffle (wiping tear from my eye……) OK enough with the wimpies got too much to do guess I am gonna go out now and look for a stinking dress pray I make it home alive :) Ps not just feeling old I am old

He: “Sinking dress…just tell Mark…it’s a sweatshirt and levi’s baby LOL Old my ass”

She: “I believe that was supposed to be stinking but like me my key board is old and dull of crap, time for a new one keys are sticking too much! I would go fer the t and jeans it’s my generally the look I go fer when CAMPING but tell that to them! Apparently while I am steppin in raccoon crap and pickin’ pine sap outta my hair I need to be wearin a dress! That was some of my best redneck bitchin ya like it? Damn too much fun!”

He: “LOVE IT…and yes…big ass typo or my damn keys are sticking LOL…ooops…just make sure it’s a brown dress…will match perfectly LOL…oh yeah, and make sure it’s got fur hanging all over it :) ”

She: “Oh yeah just call me Wilma Flintstone! So I found nothin I am going back out again in the am, not easy to find petite sizes “short people, short people got no reason to live….” especially since my waist is a 6 and my boobs are well bigger than a 6 so this sucks! Of course Layna found a dress right off the bat in the petite section but she doesn’t have boob issues. Oh Ce la Vie.”

He: “ROFLMAO. Wilma big tits Flinstone. Take Betty with ya tomorrow. LOL”

Good conversation with a good lady. I’m very happy that they got married today and wish them many many years of wedded bliss.

UPDATE

I almost blew it. Last week I took Quilly at Quintessentially Quilly to the airport. The minute I dropped her off and was leaving the airport I thought what date is it? June 21st. WTF!!!! And to make it worse, I had published my Sunday Stealing at 6 pm which meant it already had posted. I thought, I’ll be safe there can’t be any comments yet. Wrong. There were 4. I scrambled when I got home sending out emails and editing the post. Thank goodness I got a hold of Diane at Good Morning, Glory!, Mimi at Mimi Writes…., Jana at Glofersmom and Lani at Off The Top Of My Head via email and they all understood and said they would keep it under wraps. Amanda, sorry I almost ruined this but to you four ladies, my most sincerest thank you.

Happy Anniversary Balloon

Yesterday was Brenda at Brenda’s Blog from Paraguay and Bob’s 28th wedding anniversary. If any of you don’t know, Brenda has cancer and is going through chemo and posts about it and keeps us up to date. She is a remarkable woman and I wish her and Bob many many more years of wedded bliss.

    Thom, you are SO funny–I loved those e-mails, and what a great sport Amanda is that you can share, right down to the “boob issues” LOL! Congratulations to all these happy celebrating people!! Now I feel like celebrating too–there’s even beautiful sunshine outside today, like the day knows it’s special.

    What a wonderful post. This just proves that skipping housework to read blogs is a GOOD thing.

      Oh sister. You should know me well enough by now that I don’t hold back much. Lol. Just get your boy toy with a vest and chaps to do the housework. That way you can enjoy the sunny day inside and out. :)
