A Thousand Words In Idioms – Q and R

Jientje at Heaven is in Belgium, hosts A Thousand Words In Idioms. Mahalo, my Belgian Bombshell. You do a fantastic job. Direct from her blog “The idea is to pick an idiom, or a saying, (even slang is allowed) and illustrate it with a picture. Each week we’ll cover two letters of the alphabet.” Click here for more information. You can also click on the button above to go to her site. Don’t forget to sign Mister Linky when you are there so we can all see your Idioms! It’s great fun and I look forward to reading other participants.
Quiet before the Storm

Ride with the tide

Hey, it’s only my opinion.
A Hui Hou

Those shots and words are perfect
I like the storm pic.
Looks like Doomsday
Thank you my friend. Glad you enjoyed
Ah, I see the “Peeps” widget is updated
Let’s hope so LOL
LOL at the second one, what a lovely find!! You have such a vivid imagination!! You did an awesome job again, I love them both!
I thought riding with the tide had something to do with the waves in the ocean? I would have thought it meant that you let yourself go wherever the waves take you, you know, like wherever the wind blows you? But it’s not quite that meaning is it?
See? I’ve learned something new again today!
Glad you learned something my Belgian Bombshell. I should have put some kind of figure on the Tide box to make it look like he/she was taking a ride LOL. Aloha
No, I got the message, it was perfect and it made me chuckle. I love how your mind works!
I know that but I’m just saying to make it go with the idiom a little better. I think it would have just made it a little better
It would have complicated the image too much I think.
Well you are the photo expert…LOL…good thing I didn’t LOL
nice findings !and thank you for your birthday wishes ! I have the idioms here http://gattina-keyholepictures.blogspot.com/
I am one week late because I was one week to early last time. Sounds logical, no ?
Thank you very much. Hope you have a great day
And yes, being on vacation sounds logical as to why you are late
LOL HBD!!
nice storm pic…love it!
Mahalo.
I love watching storms…when I am safe and indoors!
Love your second one, wonderfully outside the box and very creative shot for the idiom
Have a wonderful day, I mean, sleep tight!
Yeah, storms are fun to watch come in and then pass through. Thanks for the great comment. Aloha
Good Morning! Love the choice of pictures! You know I have never heard Ride with the Tide before today. LOL I learned something new. Hope you have a fantastic day.
Glad you learned something. Hope you have a great day and thanks for the comment
love the picture of the water scene I so want to go back to the beach now that I have been there once
Come on back then
LOL
Those are great! I’ve seen four different Q ones now — I’m so surprised — I thought since it didn’t have many we’d all be illustrating one or two. What fun to see what everyone comes up with.
I thought the same thing as well my friend. Everyone has been so clever. Thanks for the comment
I love the Tide one! You did good, my friend.
Thank you my friend. As did you
Great idioms. Those waves in the back look mean.
You know that’s why I took the picture really. Glad you saw them. Thanks my friend
Never heard the Ride with the Tide on Before, Quiet before the storm I heard before as Calm before the storm.
Great Idioms.

Bravo on both letters, Thom!
The second one CRACKED ME UP!
You are so CLEVER, my friend!!!
The first shot reminded me of the wonderful storms we would get at the beach when I lived in Florida. OMG..the winds were incredible!!
Thank you and I am glad some one thinks I’m clever. Lol. Glad you enjoyed this. I’ll have to remember this on a rainy day.
Ride the tide – I love it!
Very clever.

Only someone who LIVES on the beach would think of Ride with the tide! GOOD JOB!!! I had a ball at the ocean today! Got burnt to a crisp – but had fun doin’ it!
LOL glad you liked these. There were some great ones today as usual. Put milk on the sun burn I’ve always heard.

Hello Thom, love your storm photo and had to giggle at your ride the tide photo, that is until it reminded me I had not done the laundry yet (sigh). It might be the quiet before the storm here if hubby has no clean shirt for work tomorrow

Isn’t riding or rolling with the tide also like going along with the inevitable?
Indeed it is. Good thinking
