A Guest Book for Dr. John

This Post is Dedicated and in Loving Memory to Dr. John at Dr. John’s Fortress
May 21, 1939 – February 15, 2010

Rest In Peace my friend.

Reading my comments about Dr. John’s Funeral Service Mimi Lenox at Mimi Writes……. asked about a Guest Book. Well this got me thinking so I came home from work and created one. Mahalo Mimi for the wonderful idea. I really appreciate it.

It’s real easy to do. You just click on the link below and it will take you to the Guest Book, which is under Pages on my sidebar. Then you put your name, choose a picture, put your location and leave a message and submit. Now it might not appear right away. I have put into it that I have to approve the signing. The reason I did this was to hopefully weed out the spam that we all despise.

And I would like some help from you. I would like to get as many people as we can to sign the Guest Book and then present it to Betty and the family. So if you would post something about the Guest Book on your blog and send them over here to sign it I would really appreciate it. It can be our tribute to the fantastic Dr. John. Here is the link:

Hey, it’s only my opinion.

  2. Post messages on my blogs and signed the book.

  3. This just chills me to the bone. I so enjoyed having Dr. J leave comments for me. And his sense of humor on his Friday 55s just always made my day.

    Sad, Sad day in Blogland!!

[I'll go post on the guestbook asap]

You’re so wonderful to have this ‘memorial’ for him Thom!!

  4. Very nice idea, Thom. Thanks.

  5. I just found out from Nessa that Dr. John’s guest book was up. This is a very lovely idea. I have added the link to my post. xoxoxo

  6. Wonderful Idea Thom, I’ve signed the Guest Book you’ve created. I’ve also signed the Guest Book that the Funeral Parlor has online.

    Thank you Thom

  7. No sooner mentioned than done! Excellent Thom. I will be doing a post about Dr. John and will include your link for the guest book.

    Thankyou m’dear. x

  8. Could just be me, Thom, but I don’t think the guestbook is working – I see 8 guests, which should include my submission, but when I play it, I see only yours over and over… anyone else seeing that?

  9. Dearest Thom,
    Such a great idea.

    My dear, Amanda is right.
    I cannot see it play
but I did managed to sign in but
    I cannot see it displayed.

Thom, I have done a dedication to Dr. John,
    here

  10. I signed the guest book, thom. Didn’t see anything come up though… Sorry about your friend, Dr. John.

  11. I’ve been to the guestbook twice, but I can’t get it to work. It must be my connection. I’ll come back in a few hours. How thoughtful of you Thom to put up a guestbook. Take care now.

    • Okay. I don’t know why it’s not working. If you added your name it wont appear until I approve it. I did that for spam reason :)

      • It was my connection Thom. Nothing moved when I went there; can’t click on anything. But now connection’s okay again and I have signed it :)

By the way, Guestbook is coming out beautifully. You’re brilliant.

  12. Well, it’s a lovely thought! I have signed the guestbook at the funeral home… I think I’ll leave it at that… but I know everyone wants to “do something” and this really is lovely! :)

  13. Thom you are a genius ! what an excellent idea !!

  14. Thom;

What a great idea,a way to express condolenses to his family.

    Loved your bus….!
    BTW
I posted on my blog about yur guest book over here. Hope it brings you some more bloggers!
    Take care my friend!

  15. Thank you, Thom.
I was hoping there would be a place to collect the blog links to all of the Dr. John tributes, so that Betty and the rest of the family could read them whenever they felt up to it and needed a lift of love.
This is a fine way to start!

  16. Wonderful, wonderful idea, Thom!

  17. i love the idea and have signed.

nobody reads my blog that doesn’t visit here so i don’t suppose there’s a point in my posting any links…

  18. Excellent idea — you’re a good friend to go through the trouble, and pass it on to his family. I’ll blog it and tweet it etc., when do we need to sign by?

BTW, I signed it like five times and mine STILL isn’t showing up, WTF?

    • BITE ME!!! ROFLMAO!!! I dunno Sister how long to give. I figure for a while at least…Just have to play it by ear because I’m sure after this post dies down it wont be signed much and then if anyone else sends anyone. We will just have to see. A week or so I would say :)

  19. Mimi is a sweetheart for suggesting it. So glad you followed through.
    Nice job Thom!

  20. Wonderful idea for a wonderful man.

  21. Thanks for doing this, Thom, Dr. John was a wonderful and very much liked man of God.
    ..

  22. What a wonderful thing to do!

And rather than use my “usual tree/road”, I picked one outside my window with a flaming sky…reminded me of dragons. :)

And whatever you did, it’s working for me now! THANK YOU!

  23. It’s been one of those days, but I did sign into the book for Dr. John this morning early. You’re a good man, my dear friend and you are appreciated.

  26. Thom, You created a beautiful page for Dr. John. I am having trouble signing it though. I will come back a little later. Maybe it’s my connection this afternoon. The slide pictures are not loading.
