55fff

Flash 55 is hosted by G-Man (Mr. Knowitall). Click the picture above or that link for more information. The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-Man know when you’ve posted your 55. Thanks G-Man for hosting.

LOVE ‘EM AND HATE ‘EM

A survey team would have a hard time finding any errors.
The beauty, precision and grace are stunning.
From beginning to end many patterns and shapes.
The power they hold are awesome. They don’t even talk.
People behave and follow their commands.
Sometimes they are hurt but recover quickly.
Traffic cones. Silent. Powerful. Bossy. Grrrrr.

Have a more direct route 55 Friday

Hey, it’s only my opinion.

A Hui Hou

  1. Those blaze-orange cones do have a way of having the last word, don’t they? Got nipped by one this week, cycling to work. I swear, it jumped out and bit me.

  2. What is this a non theme theme week???

    Cones have sooo much power!!!
    Hope you are doing well

  3. I bet you see your share of them you Brother?
    Excellent 55 My Friend.
Thanks Thom for your fantastic support, you Rock Maui, Hilo, and all points in between!
    Have a Kick Ass Week-End…G

  4. ah the power in those little plastic cones. we have them all over the place here right now…seems like every road is getting worked on..but no money in the budget for education…whoops slipping into a rant…smiles. nice 55.

    • My friend I could have with this about that as well. I almost went that way with this :) Thanks :) And you can rant here any time you want :) Because that my friend, is so true :)

  5. Traffic cones are our friends. They taught me how to parallel park, getting into the spot the first time. I’ll be forever grateful.

(Of course, I think my dad may have stolen those cones…)

  6. Take a bow sir – excellent!

  7. a different perspective !! an interesting one too :)

  8. Loved this – so globally appreciated!

  9. Yes, it’s amazing how we concede to them so easily.

    Enjoyed that.

  10. Love ‘em or hate ‘em you have to obey ‘em! LOL

    Good one Thom. :)

  11. So good! The beauty and grace of traffic cones. By the way – they seem to be international as well – because ours in Germany look exactly the same.
And now that you opened my eyes for their grace, I will never ever just call ‘em “Leitkegel” any more…

  12. Cones are better than barrels any day, but here in Michigan cones just get run over.

    Aloha!

  13. Yeah, but traffic lights are more permanent in their sway.

  14. the beauty, precision and grace of traffic cones… definitely not the words i would use to describe them. but you do have a point (and so do the cones) ;)

  15. That is really good! Funny how something small and silent still wields authority,

  16. You sucked me in on this one. So true, just the same.

  17. It took a long time for the picture to load, so as I was reading I kept wondering what you were talking about. Tremendously well done. Nice to meet you. I’m new to the 55 party. You can find me here.

  18. Oh man, those cones are nasty, vicious. Once the car in front of me hit one, flung it into the air, it hit the road, ricocheted under my car and took out the oil filter.

  19. We have so much road construction on one patch I commute on the cones have grown into orange BARRELS. :0

    Have a nice week off!

  20. I’ve never seen a construction zone so beautifully protrayed with precision and grace! Such staying power hath the traffic cone.

    Excellent 55 I’d say.
