12 Strangers – #12

written by Thom - April 26th, 2010 at 10:01 pm

Ida at Idathue has a cool meme going on. The challenge goes something like this: 12 weeks. 12 strangers = 12 portraits. Here are the particulars direct from her blog:

Rules:

1.: the person I take the picture of must be a stranger.

2.: show the pictures here every Tuesday for the next 12 weeks.

Bonus points for actually stopping a person and asking if I can take his/her picture.

I’d love it if you’d play along too. There’s nothing quite as inspiring as a little group support and pressure ;-)

See you here next Tuesday.

You can get more information by clicking HERE. Thanks Ida for hosting.

Down at Kapiolani Park every once in a while this stranger sits and plays his Sax. He is teaching himself, doesn’t read music and agreed to have his picture taken. He’s a pleasure to listen to. This is the 12th and final stranger that I will be posting. It’s been fun and I hope you have enjoyed this as much as I have participating in it.

Stranger playing a Sax

Hey, it’s only my opinion.

  1. That’s great Thom. This was a fun meme to follow…
Have a great Tuesday….I have to call into the jury hotline every half hour to see if I need to go in…

  2. Nice one!! Actually I’d taken of a person playing the sax and was just about to post that as my stranger photo but then decided to use the other pictures instead :-) I’m glad I didn’t since I like yours better:-). Thanks so much for playing along, Thom, it made a lot more fun for me :-)

you do mamage to find them :)

  5. He looks like a great guy.
Must be a treat to watch / hear him play :)

  6. I’ve never seen him around, but that’s cool he’s teaching himself to play!

    I love watching strangers too…
    thanks for sharing…

Thom, once you have spoken to a stranger, is he still a stranger? Just wondering…

    • Yup to me he is still a stranger. I don’t know his name or anything about him. And he caught my bus just tonight after getting done playing. How’s that. He didn’t even remember I took his picture LOL :) Glad you enjoyed :)

  8. very very interesting to be teaching himself how to play.
    And it’s a difficult instrument.
Great photo. I’ve enjoyed seeing your strangers in your part of the world!

  9. If he’s teaching himself and is a pleasure to listen to, that’s great!!! :)
